Platz didn't cry and kept improving both financially and physically duplicating his 1981 form in Olympia 1985 gaining worldwide popularity through Weider Publications and movies.

later in life, Platz found poor Mentzer in the gutter many times, yet he was grateful for his helping hand post 80 Olympia.

Guys like Arnold whom are driven and obsessed with goals and very competitive are often cited as evil. They are perceived as evil by those whom are losers and lack the traits required to be as relentless. I can admire guys like Arnold. I understand how they operate, cold,calculating, cutt throat. People will say he stepped on toes blah blah blah. The haters are afraid to do what it takes to win, conquer goals. Yet if those accomplishment where merited to them they would be happy, even though they did not earn them through the fight it takes to actually achieve them.same way they made participation trophies for kids who did not earn anything through winning. Yes and I'm suprised any getbigger complains about his methods. Arnold freely admits back in those days it was all about him,  everything he did was to get where he is, he acheived every goal he had. His old girlfriend barbara outland knew pretty soon she was on arnolds ride and that was it, he told her he'd be governor of california in the 70's, that's how driven his is. People can sit moaning about him making mike mentzer break down or upset zane but as arnold himself said you aren't in competition to make friends. He ignored everyone saying he couldn't do this or that and gained everything he wanted.
Yes he's done some shitty things like cheating on maria but there's no saints in this world no matter how much Steve reeves may have seemed like the perfect gentleman or Roger Walker a standup guy  there are faults in everyone.
Arnold gives back to bodybuilding and everyone that's been there along the way living the high life while we all sit typing on a message board, funny really.

Truth be told, back in the day. I modeled my goals and went after them the likes if Arnold. It worked, I too was also told I was an assholr and ego driven. I just laughed in there face as I did not care. My goals where never as lofty as Arnold's, yet I applied myself in similar manner. Made a plan, cut off emotions, cutting out people that where unnecessary and in the way. It works, you just have to realize at some point you will allienat most people along the way. In the end, get what you want, who cares about the complainers. Know that if they had the chance, they would take what you earned without a second thought.fuck em
