Which is top of the pile?

a) Taxi Driver

b) Raging Bull

c) Goodfellas

Feel free to throw in any other selections from his range (Mean Streets, The King of Comedy, Cape Fear, The Age of Innocence, Casino, Gangs of New York, The Aviator, The Departed, etc.).

Of those three, I think you've got the order right, except Goodfellas might be over Raging Bull. I actually would put Casino above Goodfellas as I get older.

I go -

1) Mean Streets
2) Taxi Driver
3) Casino
4) Goodfellas
5) Raging Bull
6) King of Comedy
7) The Color of Money
8) The Departed
9) Cape Fear (the original still has it over this)
10) The Wolf of Wall Street
11) Bringing Out The Dead
12) After Hours

Not sure were Gangs of New York would go, it needs a rewatch. And there are still others that I haven't seen.

As I type this; I'm watching Shutter Island. I've seen in a few times. It's very good.

Goodfellas, without a shadow of a doubt

Shutter island was much better than I expected, too.  Nearly a great movie.

it is. I don't think scorsese has done anything like it before, kinda horror/thriller.

the atmosphere alone keeps you engaged.

1a. Goodfellas
1b. Raging Bull

The others we can debate but both those deserve to at least have a "1" in front of them.

Couldn't watch raging bull, got to the part where he started slapping around his whore bitch wife or whatever and it creeped me out.

I know it's probably one of the greatest but never watched it.
