I have a friend...well, he's not really a "friend", but more like an acquaintance that I know from an online bodybuilding forum (I know, but it isn't REALLY that gay).

Anyway, he's been married like 5 or 6 times and now he's hanging out a shingle to help others with their "marriage problems". How can I tell him that he might not be the best spokesman for stability and marital bliss?

I am interested to see where this thread goes. My first lasted 6 years. Caught her in bed with another man. Second 44 years....last 20 was mostly as a care giver. She died of cancer amongst other illness. Current marriage two years. Several year long wild live ins with nympho girlfriends in between marriages. They ended very badly. Guess I am monogamous.

Personally I don't understand getting married so many times. Why not live together when you have a terrible track record?

 I worked with a guy who never married and lived in an amazing house. His girlfriend moved in and he was so paranoid that she could claim a common law marriage. He thought if it went on years she could get his house and  half the money.  He felt he solved that problem by making her pay rent. She gave him a check for chump change like $100 bucks a month with a memo it was for rent. He would then give her a receipt. He felt that protected him.
