If Bohner reallly said that, it's far more disturbing. Basically admitting the Republicans need people to be ignorant uneducated hillbillies in order to pull the wool over their eyes.

Can any of you show me in the Bible where it says the devil has horns?
According to the Bible, Lucifer was the most perfect angel in beauty and in wisdom.  He wasn't some forked tongued, trident wielding, horned red entity.  That's Eurocentric bullshit.

92 + million Americans have given up looking for work. That is why unemployment is 5.6%. Jobs are scarce. Millennials all want to start near the top. Bill Gates and gang are still looking to Asia/India for engineers. AA degrees are now the 13th and 14th grades for kids who are forced to stay at home with mommy and daddy because there are too few jobs. My step son was able to get a job with a government defense contractor near Phoenix. He is the only one the American born out of his graduating group who has a real job (not taking tickets or serving popcorn at the movies) and is not living at home. Now that is with an Engineering degree with honors. We went to his graduation. 80% had Asian/Hindu names. You can stand in line for a Gov job or be a firefighter, cop or nurse with an AA degree. And POTUS will pay for it with tax payer money...wowzer kids. Your future is bright.

He's a fraud, a liar, a race baiter, a racists, a traitor, a terrorist sympathizer, a communist lover and purposely destroyed the country. These are facts.

You got to stop watching Fox News. I could say these things about your boy Bush Jr. but if I had a chance to meet him at the White House I would.

Why does it cost so much to go to an American university?  Don't the major universities make hundreds of million of dollars with their football and basketball programs? Where does that money go?  In Canada a university education cost about a third of American.  Our sports programs don't make shit.  One of you Einsteins speak on this. Serious question.

I'd like to be able to take some auto mechanic classes or something at Harvard on the Hill without also being required to take/pay for unrelated classes such as Intercultural Underwear and "General Ed."

Boston College and/or Boston University is about $50,000 to $55,000 for the year (including dorm). And that's just for a Bachelors degree.  :o :o

$23,00 per semester, 2 semesters is $46,000. Take into account dorming, food, etc, you may even be looking at closely to $60,000 for the year. Crazy.

From their website

Program
Per Semester: $23,335

The presidents of major universities make crazy money:

Among private colleges surveyed in Massachusetts, many presidents received far more than the national average of $400,000 a year. Leaders who topped the $1 million threshold included Susan Hockfield, who formerly led the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Joseph Aoun at Northeastern University, and Robert Brown at Boston University.

The survey included base salary, bonus pay, and other benefits in its calculations, including payments for housing, travel, moving expenses, and spending accounts. In response to complaints from colleges, the publication did not include compensation set aside for future years, such as retirement pay, as it had in previous annual surveys.

SF, we want things for free. Unless the government is going to pay for my books, food, and other living expenses while I'm at college, I'm not interested. Someone's gotta take responsibility.

I never said college should be free, but $60,000 a year is ridiculous. This is all so that the higher-ups could have fat wallets.

Although BC and BU are pricey nonetheless they're top colleges and have a lot of notable professors. Their prices mostly reflect the geographic area. But that price per year for BC is really good.

Colleges raise their damn tuition about 5-7% annually. Loans through the government have helped cause this inflation. If Obama wanted to help he wouldn't have raised student loan interest rate from 3.4% and then continue to raise them.

Been hearing they're getting tougher to get in, as the U is taking in more and more rich foreign students who they can charge full sticker price to.   Heard this from someone whose daughter applied to BC for this fall.  I haven't researched it though, so it could be BS.

WASHINGTON —President Obama’s plan to offer Americans two years of college for free has come under fire from congressional Republicans, who are calling it a blatant plot to make Americans smarter.

The G.O.P., which has benefited from the support of so-called “low-information voters” in recent years, accused Obama of cynically trying to make people smarter as a way of chipping away at the Republican base.

“You take low-information voters and give them information, and pretty soon they’re Democrats,” Senator Ted Cruz (R-Texas) said.

House Speaker John Boehner said that “forcing knowledge into people” was “flagrantly un-American,” adding, “We make this promise to the American people: if you like your brains, you can keep your brains.”
