Not much... Just changed from gym into a sheer white nightie. I need to take my friend a pavlova and I am too comfy to change. I might go in my nightie

It's not that simple to point out a trend in weather for a year or so.  In the 70s, they thought the ice age was coming...today, global warming.
Gore plugged this and made a shit ton of cash.  It's just another way for the government to pass more laws to increase taxing.  The environmental war cry is by far the most ridiculous out there.  Humans thinking their the center of the universe...once again. :D

Thank u!

I never referenced coach. Coach denies it, I think it's real but pointless to be concerned about it.

Most people have concern for the welfare of their children, grandchildren etc.

Is that so pointless?

Of course I do but I can't predict what is going to happen a year from now let alone 600 years.  What I can do is secure wealth and other resources for myself and my children.  Who knows what will happen to my family line when I'm gone but statistically the least of their concerns is global warming.  It's also pointless because nothing we do in the United States will offset the activities of China and the developing world.

Yes.  That is pointless.
Humans will do themselves in far before the planet will ever have a chance to rid this waste.
We will exterminate ourselves within 500 years.  The US will probably be at the forefront claiming we're in danger of some made up threat, then other countries will join in.  We'll probably blame a bearded guy in a cave again.

Couldn't disagree more.

Technology can solve this issue. We need changes in energy storage and utilization, some quantum leaps. There is no need to be raping the earth as we are, we can solve this issue, it has to come top down however.

You must be right up on climate science, 500 years we will be starving and dying in a drought filled, empty ocean world.

The funny thing is humans do think they are the center of the universe, ie I will do what I can for mine etc.. fuck the planet we live on.

I'm not saying we shouldn't work toward better sources of energy or that be should we as environmentally irresponsible as possible .  What I'm saying is that China and the developing world aren't going to change their behavior regardless of how we behave.  Whatever new technology that is developed will only come to fruition when the market demands it.  The developing world won't adopt that technology for a long time because fossil fuels and older methods of production will always be cheaper.

consider why that happened and the predictable effects.

or is this the part where discuss existential philosophy?

The Chinese government sets its environmental policy. We can't change China's emissions standards.

Perhaps there's another solution that is related to US policy?

any ideas  ???

Not unless you want the United States to intervene in the Chinese economy.

Not unless you want the United States to intervene in the Chinese economy.

Obama has secured climate concessions from China and India as part of those UN talks. A similar deal with Canada could help offset the anticipated environmental damage from the TransCanada Corp. pipeline, responding to project opponents.

What do you think about this?
