Adrian Peterson is still under contract w/ the Vikings. If Jerry Jones wasn't willing to ante up & keep Murray, it's hard to envision the Cowboys are going to pay AP what he's owed on his current contract & he's owed over $12 million for this upcoming season, over $14 million in '16 & over $16 million in '17. As great as AP is WAS, that's a ton of money for a RB who's about to turn 30 later this month.

Fixed. One year away from football and turning 30 in 2015. He's no longer the best any more. Marshawn Lynch is far and away the best in the NFL until his production proves otherwise.

There is enough dense getbiggers around to prove that a stupid prediction wouldn't come across as tongue and cheek. I guess you trying to be funny.

I'd take Jamaal Charles over Lynch any day

It's close...but Lynch is better, overall. Every critic is waiting for his production to slow down because of his style of play. Hasn't happened yet.

Reggie Bush bound for 49ers

Reggie Bush is set to return to California.

The San Diego native and former USC star running back has reached agreement with the San Francisco 49ers, sources told ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter on Saturday.

The 49ers will be Reggie Bush's fourth NFL team, following stints with the Saints, Dolphins and Lions.

The Detroit Lions released Bush in February, saving $1.7 million in salary cap space.

Bush, who turned 30 on March 2, signed a four-year deal with the Lions in 2013 and was a 1,000-yard rusher for Detroit in his first season with the club. Bush couldn't stay healthy in 2014, though, dealing with a lingering ankle injury that started in Week 5 against Buffalo and never completely healed.

He played in 11 games last season with only 76 carries for 297 yards and two touchdowns. He also had 40 receptions for 253 yards. Bush continually tried to come back throughout the season but kept getting reinjured.

Bush was drafted by the New Orleans Saints with the No. 2 pick in the 2006 draft. Although he was a productive player when healthy and won the 2010 Super Bowl with the Saints, he never fully lived up to lofty expectations in New Orleans after a dazzling college career with the Trojans. He won the 2005 Heisman Trophy, but later voluntarily returned it after USC was sanctioned for NCAA violations during his time in college.

Bush played five seasons for the Saints, scoring 33 touchdowns in 60 games, before he moved on to the Miami Dolphins in 2011. He rushed for a total of 2,072 yards and scored 15 TDs over two seasons in Miami before joining the Lions in 2013.

Disagree. If AP comes back even at 85% of what he was he is still the best as he was so clearly above every other running back in the league just a few years ago. I think a lot are forgetting just how great he was. He's never had a quarterback (except favre for about the one good year favre had left).

I admit there is no real way of determining how the year off of football will effect him but to me he is the type of running back that just hitting that 30 number won't have an effect on.

AP has had a year to heal. He'll be great for next couple of seasons.

Marcus Allen sat on a Raider bench for almost 4 years and eventually played well
into his mid- thirties in KC.

I'm not even putting the age of 30 as a benchmark. It can happen to a running back in the mid 20's. The ability literally can disappear in one offseason. Depends how much work that RB got in college and what style a runner they are. How many carries before they became pro, how physical their running style is, etc.

Ray Rice and Laurence Moroney, and Felix Jones prime examples. And those guys were young when their talent fell off a cliff. Granted, not on AP's level talent-wise. AP's special for sure but I'm betting against him coming back dominating after a year away from football. My opinion is based mainly on my dislike for his personal character. And I base that on the FACTS that have been verified about him.

Same thing will show on Ray Rice. He'll catch on with a team but don't be surprised if he doesn't make an NFL roster after training camp ends.

Marshawn Lynch is the man right now. And the best in the NFL, presently. That being said, running back is very unforgiving position on the NFL level.

with that O line, you could plug in Phil Heath at RB and it'd work.

Phil could rush through the narrowest holes.
