130 was his warm up and 190 was his failure set? Anyone else think thats a small amount of weight to increase from your first to last set, or have I been doing it wrong forever?
Not really, its a 60 pound increase.
At my heaviest, I was pushing up 100 pound dumbbells on the flat press for a few reps. Id start off with the 30-40 pounders for warm up sets. Thats about 60-70 pound increase over 4-5 sets. Id get to the 100s for like 3-4 reps on my own.
It just seems crazy because he is toying with the 130's.
