I'm going to throw out one of my ideas again. Say a guy has two or more shows lined up, a few weeks apart. It's almost impossible to make much progress in conditioning for the second show. I'm not sure why that is, maybe several factors play into it. But that is why it's also a bad idea to not try to peak fully for the first show as the second show is never much better. If you peak fully for the first show the success will carry over to the second show, your confidence is high etc. Do poorly for the first show, forget it, the season is over.
Probably a good idea to skip another show for Mike. Although I'd like to see him do the one in 5 weeks to see if my theory is right.
