exactly like you said, gun could lock-up but send all rounds top-right.
Still one of the best guns I ever had.
Then started to train hoping to took part in Bianchi Cup, so I started demolishing 586 and 686

Started running the wheel guns? A little Jerry Miculek?

Yes, I saw him on tv late at night and was so incredible seeing him in action.
So a week after I sold my GP-100 and S&W 27 and got two 586!

He's a trip. I saw him in action at a IDPA regional match. He was doing some incredible trick shooting.

Awww...
a thread full of republicans eager to murder Obanga's extended family!  :o

Bad joke aside...
Why would someone, average dude not gun fiend,  buy a 0.45 instead of a smaller caliber - has it to do with stopping power?
Can a small caliber penetrate a leather jacket?
Is a shotgun, 2 barrel not pump action, sufficient for self defense?
Has one of you ever used his/her gun in self defense?

Is a shotgun, 2 barrel not pump action, sufficient for self defense? Two rounds isn't really good enough for a SD weapon
Has one of you ever used his/her gun in self defense? No comment

Id defo go with a 45 just for the power of the round. It does serious damage and if.you.only hit your target once or twice you want your shots to count.

Believe it or not, but with quality modern self-defense ammo (like Critical Defense, Gold Dot, etc), the 9mm round really does approach the "knockdown" power of the .45ACP without the added weight of the ammo and the extra recoil.

There is probably no better package on the market right now for price, reliability, capacity and quality than the Glock 19 (9mm)

because it was agonizing at that point. Sold it to an old man who is still using it.

I'm not buying this gun for self defense or shooting at anything other than paper targets at 25+y range. Hence the question for match weapons. I live in a country with rather restrictive gun laws by the way. Only time your allowed to leave your house with a gun is on your way to the gun range and back (and well, obviously transportation when you buy it/have something customized, but whenever you do, you have to have it in a locked case in your trunk, don't even think about carrying).

Pretty sure I'll go with the customized CZ 97 Sport. H&K USP Elite is a plastic fucking piece of shit. Les Baer is way too expensive (3000+€ range over here). Kimber Gold Match II is still in the race, and so are a combined handful of guns from STI and 2 or 3 different custom gun makers over here. Was thinking about a Tanfoglio Gold Match, but I hear their guns are made with a lot of Southern European work ethic.

Having two Tanfoglio in the past I can only speak well of their job.
Excellent guns with good price also here in Italy.

LOL, I just got back from walking the dogs while open carrying in a drop-leg holster. Nobody cares.

Odd. How can you hate inanimate objects? Do you also hate knives, or are they the little satan to the big bad gun?

smaller caliber you have to worry more about over penetration... such as the bullet passing through more walls. larger bullet = larger surface area to dump energy into the first target it hits.

personally I love the 1911 and the .45 caliber in general. the odds of you needing more than 7 or 8 rounds in a 'situation' are slim, so a single stack 1911 will suit most folks just fine. besides, the single stack feels great in the hand.

There's nothing "cool" about it. It's a tool, nothing more.

Ruger makes excellent guns, it was agonizing since I used it a lot  (200.000 plus rounds shooted ).
I sold the GP100 but kept my Super Redhawk .44 since I use it less.

Agree, no need to put in danger someone on the other side of a wall if you're considering defense of your home.
45 has a great stopping power and is less dangerous as far as penetration is concerned. Also love how the single stack feels but I buy a staggered one
