All kidding aside, Mike Brown punched the cop, as the one bruise showed.  Whether he was a "deadly" threat when the cop ran 150 feeet to catch his punk ass, who knows.  (I still believe the cop was angry he got punched, and decided to shoot the kid when he caught him no matter what).

ANyway, in this case, it was a soft-ass 50 year old man, RUNNING AWAY, and the cop fired on him.  Then, to make things worse, he casually tosses a weapon near the body and includes it in his report.

Without planting the weapon, MAYBE MAYBE he gets away with the shoot... fired but not charged.  At this point, he clearly murders the dude, and clearly plants evidence... even the police and his own lawyer are turning on him.

Some dude is dead. Taxpayers will pay millions in the civil suit that will follow. Some cop somewhere in the future will be killed because "all cops are murdering pigs that hate spookie". It's a real bummer.

Because of my years of powerlifting and bodybuilding I know LOTS of cops. I've trained, travel with, competed against, sold drugs to, bought drugs from, and partied with many cops. I've heard cops say (about a cop killed), "Dude was an asshole. He should have been shot years ago. Sure I'll go to the funeral- and get paid OT... and don't think we won't bring this up when we negotiate out next pay raise..."

Cops just need to learn that "shoot first and ask questions later" is just a joke, in real life you can't really shoot people as your first option.  You can't kill people to resolve your problem every time.

hadn't heard the overtime thing before.. we obviously don't get overtime for it. Can't personally recall an officer here that was killed that I thought that about but I've been lucky. I don't think 99 percent of the cops think shoot first ask questions later is a good motto but like you eluded to, 1 person killed without cause is 1 too many. He's dead. No fixing that. His family suffers, no fixing that. The tax payers pay out money.. people lose perspective and start hating all cops.. no one wins here, it's truly sad.

Cops get angy like everyone else, but some lack the ability to not PUNISH a person who has pissed them off.  We all have to resist punching someone in the face daily, right?  Even if it's just the fat man farting in line in front of us at 7-11.   But some people feel they won't get in trouble for talking shit, pushing people, etc.  Cops feel like that.  The cop KNEW he could casually toss the tazer on the dead body, and his partner would back him up 100% on the story.  Zero hesitation.  One wonders if they've done this kinda thing before.
