Again, 60 college credits, which are mostly classes like Art Appreciation, and you're on your way to becoming a cop. Pass a physical and psych exam (and perhaps some other tests), and you're a cop. Like I said, the kid in my high school became a cop, and that is not saying much!!  If he can do it, any dolt can. How this kid became a cop is beyond me. Sure, there are bad people in every profession, but it seems like anyone with half a brain can become a cop. Glad I never went down that road. Id choose firefighter or court officer over a police officer any day.

I do get a kick out of your perception of how dull witted officers are. You'd be surprised at the level of talent a department with competitive pay and opportunities gets. You'd also be surprised at the screening process the funded and supported departments get to do in order to pick from the talent pool. The days of the bubba jock are over my friend. Welcome to 2015. I think I would be willing to bet with you I could randomly go to any show up/roll call in our city, randomly pick out an officer, and they would go toe to toe with you on an IQ test.

Cop fires at him 8 times, striking him 5 times, when person was 10+ feet away and fleeing.
Cop handcuffs him and gives no medical attention, even though he claims CPR on the report.

An officers first duty is to remain safe, to then ensure the safety of others. It has been proven countless times that people are unable to peacefully interact and comply with officers despite knowing full well they are in the wrong.

So, up until that point, the cop with his adrenaline pumping, now he’s been in a physical tussle, and now the perpetrator has reached for the Taser allegedly. [Officer Slager] has done everything professional and now he’s had this, this civilian has dared to physically have this altercation with the officer. Put that in the officer’s head now. I think it saves him from the murder rap.
The comfy couch hosts were stunned to hear him declare this wasn’t murder, and so Rivera clarified: “This is a horrible, horrible shooting, but there was no premeditation. This is manslaughter. I believe that this is manslaughter.”

When Steve Doocy mentioned how “one of the other morning shows on another channel” suggested Scott’s death was the result of police targeting black men — hoping for Rivera to shut down the race talk — the guest replied: “I don’t think there is any doubt that too many black moms fear cops when their kids go out more than they fear crooks.”
