Just ribbing. Actually for me it depends on the service. I got Chinese take away last week and they were really nice, asked if I wanted a drink while I waited and asked if I needed plastic fork etc.

I love chipotle and go there regularly but rarely tip because most of the staff are liberals with tattoos and piercings and for the most part they have an underserved snooty attitude and service is mediocre at best.

Also I will tip at take away type places if I go there often and they know me and I know they consistently do a good job.

Agreed, however not on carryout at a fast food establishment.

If tipping were a common practice those companies would try to lower the wages to compensate. Taking my order doesn't make you a server, in these cases tipping isn't mandatory.

If such people weren't so dangerous I would pity those who tow the just world theory line and posit elitist ideas as if they were their own.  If you think as the above poster does then you are a victim of some serious cultural hegemony, and because the elites are so effective in this art of indoctrination, you are unlikely in this lifetime to even become aware of it, even when pointed out to you.

They're like vagrants rattling a tin cup.  They're indoor panhandlers.  Here's a beautiful establishment, highly trained chefs taking great care in their art, and then they let in a bunch of bums off the street to carry the food around and ask people for spare change.
