Who is the second-best player on the Warriors?  Klay Thompson?  lol

Jordan would shit all over this team if you spotted him Reggie Theus and Big Chuck Oakley.

It's a results oriented world we live in.  Everybody loves a winner.  Nobody wants to hear excuses from the loser.

Outside of Iguodala, the Warriors have played like shit in this series.  Ugly, bad NBA Finals this year.  Lebron will get the MVP and he's shooting just under 40%.

Yup, should get the MVP. Will be very interesting when they bring out the Larry O'brien trophy for Golden State, and the MVP trophy for Lebron in Cleveland.

Curry is averaging 26 PPG (three more points than his regular season average) on 45/41/94% shooting.  Outside of one (really) bad game he's had a monster series.  The rest of GSW outside of Iggy has been a tire-fire though.

I don't remember Iverson getting this much praise when he took a trash team (worse then this cavs team, imo) to the finals and scored 48 to beat the Lakers (who were better then this golden state team) in the first game of the series. Doesn't make sense how Lebron is getting this much praise yet is shooting worse then Iverson did in that series. He has to step up his game the next few just to match Iverson's field goal percentage. Granted Lebron has more rebounds and assists but eric snow wasn't going to make any shot no matter how wide open he was.

Haha, I forgot about that team.

I mean look at this roster:

http://www.basketball-reference.com/teams/PHI/2001.html

Second and third leading scorers after Iverson were Theo Ratliff and Aaron McKie.

Blatt is showing how ineffective of a coach he is.  With Lebron they'd be thinking about their top 3 draft pick this season.  Lebron is good at making a crappy coach look great.

How does Blatt essentially bench mosgov when he just scored 28 paints?  How does JR barely touch the ball in the second half when he hit 4 threes in the first?  Some odd decisions.

Delaschmova needs to be put back on the bench.  Not sure what the commentators are referring to when they say he plays good defense.  I didn't realize good defense meant running around swinging your arms all over the place like a looney is considered good defense.

Even with a healthy Irving, there's just so much wrong with the team.

Who gives a fuck? If Curry was on a team that couldn't even make the playoffs in the east without him then he wouldn't be able to get as many good looks and would get doubled more often.. for lebron to have more than double the rebounds and almost triple the assists as the "MVP" point guard and have 3 more points in a fairly closely contested game is great...anybody every think what the game would be like if you swapped Curry and Lebron? 4 Game sweep

Curry's had one really off shooting night (Game 2) and suddenly "Matthew Dellavedova" is a premier perimeter defensive stopper/specialist ::) ::) ::)

Outside of that game Curry is completely lighting him up (28 ppg on 51% shooting and 51% on threes).

LeBron's "Usage Rate" in this series is, as far as I know, unprecedented in modern basketball.  It's currently at 41% and 50% if you count assists.  Basically it means he's responsible for using half of the team's possessions so far (attempting to score himself, turning it over, or assisting on a made basket).  For comparison to two other famous ball-hog Finals performances, Jordan was at 39/45% in 1993 against Phoenix and Iverson was at 37/41% in 2001 against the Lakers.

Not to say that what LeBron's doing this series isn't impressive (most players don't maintain their usual performance with an increase in Usage; LeBron nearly does; Curry very likely wouldn't) but his "counting stats" (points assists rebs) are so high largely because he's got the ball in his hands most of the time.  This is also probably why his shooting percentage is so low by his standards (even LeBron doesn't keep up his usual shooting with a big increase in Usage).

Yea difference MJ won that series and Iverson failed and LeBron on his way to failing.

Jordan also shot a cool 50.8 percent from the field and average 41 points a game, 6 assists and 8.5 rebounds a game.

Jordan was efficient, shot 50 percent from the field in his prime, while being the scoring champ, you don't see that anymore.

All time great shot jacker Kobe never shot 50 percent in a season...

I don't think you can refer to it as "you don't see that anymore" seeing there is probably only 2-3 players of all time who could do that 2 of them being Jordan and Kareem

Done deal tonight.  Delaschmova can sulk and maybe try to take out a player or two.  Shocked no one is talking of him trying to purposely take out Curry's ankle with a kick and just missed getting the ball instead.  James will be winded by the end of the third.

Just imagine if Curry took 35 shots in a game.  Dude would end up with 60+ points.  James does, misses 20 and he's hailed as the greatest ever.  Give me a fucking break.

There's been quite a few actually (led the league in PPG while shooting 50% or better), although not very many recently:

- Kevin Durant (2014)
- Shaq (1995, 2000)
- Jordan (1988-1992)
- David Robinson (1994)
- Bernard King (1985)
- Adrian Dantley (1981, 1984)
- Alex English (1983)
- George Gervin (1978-1980, 1982)
- Bob McAdoo (1974, 1975)
- Kareem (1971, 1972)
- Oscar Robertson (1968)
- Wilt (1961-1966)

The "Season Finder" tool on basketball-reference.com is really helpful/cool for stuff like this.

So in the 57 seasons since 1960, the scoring leader has shot at least 50% in 28 of those seasons, by 12 different players.  If you throw in guys who were really close (49% and up) then nearly everyone from 1960-1995 did it.   It's a fairly recently phenomenon that the scoring leader usually shoots well under 50%.  I imagine this is because players take a lot more three-pointers now than they used to, and because offenses are more perimeter-oriented now as a result (not many teams with a big low-post player as their primary scorer).

Jordan is certainly the most recent to do it consistently, although I didn't realize Kevin Durant led the league in scoring in four of the past six seasons.  That Heeb can score.  He also shot very near 50% in all of those seasons.

Centers always shoot over 50 percent, it's not impressive.

I think Shaq lead the league in field goal percentage a couple times.

And some of those old guys took shots in the paint with no three point line.
