Just homo Boston fan things...

Everyone hates on the towns that own the titles, its just how it goes.

Since 2001:

Pats - 4 titles
Sox - 3 Titles
Bruins - 1 Title
Celtics - 1 Title

Unheard of...

Must suck to be a sports fan from another area, of course there's gonna be hate/jealousy.
Sports is all about bragging rights and shit talking... (How about the tards that say "we" when they talk about their teams)?

"We kicked your ass" and all that nonsense... I didn't realize fans were on the roster?

This is the mentality of the Boston sports fan who view any type of criticism toward their teams as just "hating or jealousy" when that's not the case.  It's uncanny how many up here rally around this misconception.

People don't hate the Patriots because they've won a lot of games.  Yes, there's always fans out there who hate success, but this level of hate is way beyond that.  People hate the patriots because:

1.  They've been busted for cheating twice.
2.  Their head coach is perceived as an arrogant miserable prick.
3.  Their fan base is acts like they do.  When you read the perception of Pats fans on sites like Deadspin, etc...when people from all over the country write similar opinions on the behavior of a fan base, it's probably based in reality

Take Red Sox fans too:  They finally win a WS for the first time in 86 years, and instantly turn into arrogant, hypocritical douchebags.  I was gettting texts from normal, rational Pats fan friends of mine during the Giants game last night, where they were all watching Eli just to hope he screwed up.  It's a fucked up mentality.

Fixed

Do San Francisco fans have t-shirts / memorabilia mocking their NLCS opponents instead of World Series Championship stuff?  Because Sox fans do.

Giants are great... I was merely stating all the teams in Boston (big 4) that have all won in that time frame.

Every city has the nutty/arrogant fans. Boston is just on top so much, they are the focus of the hate.
If it was NY (or anywhere), everyone would hate their fans... The chest pumping/bragging right thing gets old.

New England is made up of six states and you will find Pats fans in all six especially the Northern 4 (MA North). Not sure why you keep saying Boston.

Prior to the Buffalo game it was the NY/Buffalo media along with the coach and players making all the noise. The fans were also obnoxious.

Why do people hate the Yankees?(The supposedly Evil Empire) Was there a cheating scandal with the Yankees? Their coach was one of the nicest guys in baseball in the 90's into the turn of the century...Their players stayed out of the news papers and did most things right. Players weren't allowed to have beards or long hair...Their owner was a ass hat but not to the point that most of the country should hate the team...Some might say it's because they out spent all the other teams and bought their titles...Yet we don't see the same type of hate happening toward the dodgers who are spending almost 100 million more a year than the Yankees ever did. Will people hate the Dodgers if the Dodgers start winning titles again? Because if they do start to hate the Dodgers after they win a title/s, then it could only be because they are winning...

lol @ putting the Red Sox on the level of the Yankees :D

27 World Series titles vs. 8

26 between 1918-2004 vs. 0

Thinking your team is comparable to the most successful franchise in the history of American pro sports and being stunned/argumentative when it's pointed out that no, your team isn't on that level or even close, is why people hate the Red Sox / Boston fans / etc., HTH.

Steinbrenner, payroll, and a true, century long history of winning all contributed to it.  And you're completely ignoring the Bronx Zoo era of the Yankees, where they won multiple championships amidst a totally chaotic clubhouse, something you ignore.  And, most of the true hate which you describe, is mostly in New England, which is clouding your view.  They're obsessed with NY.

There is genuine dislike for NY for all those reasons, but there is SEETHING hatred of the Patriots.  They're despised.  The whole country outside of NE wanted them to pay for deflategate.  The activity on the story was unreal - and it's not because the Patriots won one Super Bowl and lost two in the last ten years.  No matter how NE fans try to fool themselves, it's much more than that.

I honestly don't think the "team" is hated because of anyone more than Steinbrenner.

They are also quite possible the most LOVED franchise as well.

Yankees fans are EVERYWHERE.

Seriously EVERYWHERE.

I'm not from New England and not really a Pats fan. Lets face it. The NFL really doesn't give a flying fuck about the Patriots and deflategate etc. Their number issue is concussions. But they don't want do schmoe talking about concussions everyday. So the NFL is going to continually feed the media stories about any team and so called scandals to deflect. The Patriots are being picked out because their franchise can take it. Hell, I wouldn't even doubt it if Kraft himself told the league to go ahead and come after my team as long as we keep the concussion issue out of the media...Kraft took that million dollar fine and drafts picks no problem...Kraft knows the concussion issue could get way out of hand and cost the owners many more billions that were already agreed upon if the media didn't let up on that issue...There is way more going on here than meets the eye. The league not wanting Jr.Seau's daughter at the HOF was just mind boggling. They got some much shit from that that they changed their minds in a hurry and doubled down on the deflategate shit...If the Patriots dropped off the face of the earth tomorrow, the Seahawks would be the next team of "cheaters" to poke the stick at...This really isn't a Patriots thing imop...

Wait, you're saying deflategate is just a concocted conspiracy to draw attention away from concussions, and Kraft and Goodell are in on it?   Dude.

The concussion issue in the NFL is the biggest issue ever in any sport in written history. Yet the media won't really touch it. Every single NFL game that is played, 2 to 5 players get concussions on some level. Times that by 32 teams and on any given week, upward of well over 100 players a week get a concussion and almost all of them are never looked at by a doctor etc. Most of them lineman that we never see. Just the head to head jam off the line is enough to cause a concussion on some level. One X Bears doctor came out and said that if the players reported every time they had a concussion, no games would ever be played again. That the NFL would have to pay in the trillions in lawsuits...Do I think Billionaire owners are in on keeping it a quiet as possible? Ab-so-fucking-lutely! Concussion in the NFL is equal to the tobacco company lying and putting out false info  about cigs causing cancer all those decades...But I guess if the internet was around in the 60 and 70's and someone wrote that the tobacco company were evil motherfuckers and are in on a conspiracy to hide the truth from the people, you would also be on the web questioning that person and calling them out as some conspiracy nut...
