Everyone hates on the towns that own the titles, its just how it goes.
Since 2001:
Pats - 4 titles
Sox - 3 Titles
Bruins - 1 Title
Celtics - 1 Title
Unheard of...
Must suck to be a sports fan from another area, of course there's gonna be hate/jealousy.
Sports is all about bragging rights and shit talking... (How about the tards that say "we" when they talk about their teams)?
"We kicked your ass" and all that nonsense... I didn't realize fans were on the roster?
This is the mentality of the Boston sports fan who view any type of criticism toward their teams as just "hating or jealousy" when that's not the case. It's uncanny how many up here rally around this misconception.
People don't hate the Patriots because they've won a lot of games. Yes, there's always fans out there who hate success, but this level of hate is way beyond that. People hate the patriots because:
1. They've been busted for cheating twice.
2. Their head coach is perceived as an arrogant miserable prick.
3. Their fan base is acts like they do. When you read the perception of Pats fans on sites like Deadspin, etc...when people from all over the country write similar opinions on the behavior of a fan base, it's probably based in reality
Take Red Sox fans too: They finally win a WS for the first time in 86 years, and instantly turn into arrogant, hypocritical douchebags. I was gettting texts from normal, rational Pats fan friends of mine during the Giants game last night, where they were all watching Eli just to hope he screwed up. It's a fucked up mentality.
