Yes good point. "People" have this perception for some reason that the mean old white slavers took their boats over to Africa and forcibly herded a bunch of big strong natives onto the boat.
In reality they were usually slaves in Africa too and were sold onto the boat by black slavers.
Facts like these are always overlooked for some reason today.
Again I understand the issue with race in America, it is a legitimate issue; that said it has always been like that starting with the Irish, Italians, Poles (these first "white" European groups were considered less then slaves, disposable people because they would do any job and didn't have a property cost), Chinese, Japanese, "blacks" and now Hispanics.
Just like the Baltimore riots becoming a "race" issue (according to the media) despite a large minority control of institutional authority.
