Uh, no.She lives in the town next to me. She's a die-hard baseball fan, heavily into sabermetrics, volunteers countless hours to the local little league, and writes freelance articles for fangraphs, hardballtimes, and baseballthinkfactory.
How fast, mph, you think that broken bat end was going? Paying attention or not, just a freak accident. You're closer to Providence than Boston arent you, Grape? Right in the belly of the heast as a NY sports fan LoL! Listening to WEEI must be some serious fantard comedy for you.
Correct on all, Mr. A. Sports radio up here is indeed high comedy, outside of Felger & Mazz.I don't believe she has any grounds to sue as there are disclaimers all over the tickets when you purchase them. However I do believe the Red Sox will do something for her to make good in the court of public opinion. In addition I know nothing about this woman or where she lives made all that up.
This, IMO, is far beyond reasonable risk which is what the ticket warning is based on. < That usually applies to errant balls.
i doubt she will be able to sue. Isnt there some kind of warning on the back of the tix or somewhere that tells you " hey idiot, youre at a place where objets are moving at close to 100 mph and may come flying at you...keep your eyes on the game" ?
i'd say its reasonable risk. Bats go flying into the stands EVERY GAME. Multiple times some games.
Does that really happen?
I've never seen one fly into the stands. Infield: yes. On a positive note, if it goes into the stands it's yours to keep. Baseball SOP.
i got great seats for this thursday at fenway park against the Bluejays, keeping my eyes on the field
She'll get a signed jersey and free tickets.
I saw ken Griffey jr hit a foul ball square nuts into this chicks nose. Her face blew up like Mexican bar mitzvah! Blood everywhere. But I've never seen a supporter catch a bat in the face. I've been to maybe 60 mlb games in the last 2 years
You sound like a strong supporter of baseball. Good for you.
Life long dodger fan, but that stadium is shit and fellow fans are ghetto as hell. I still go to games against SF, and NYY. Otherwise, I'll go to angel and padre games. Still a gentlemans game (like soccer) but increasingly ghetto-fied
I think baseball is boring as shit.
