Zane wasn't "widely known" and neither was Mentzer. Schwarzenegger's being widely known has more to do with his movie career, not his being Mr. Olympia.
mcway you are way off on that one, mike mentzer was very popular during his short run, he was a great writer as well.
No, bigger is not my answer. Haney is best combo of size, shape, conditioning and proportions. He's the prototype.
Really I don't think that Haney had great proportions. He had an incredible torso, but his legs and arms were (at least) a class below. But overall, I prefer Haney's physique.
Samir is like wow I was mr o yrs ago now I blew out my waist chasing this guy...
In '91 his legs had improved quite a bit.But in '90, the tested show, he was badly off. Pretty much all torso.
I think many people interpret Zane as an underdog and he gets a lot of respect in that regard. Haney dominated save for '90
Wo. How much did Haney weigh in 1990? Not his billed weight, but his actual weight? Looks to be MAX 230.
He didn't dominate in 1983 either. Although he did place 3rd and Zane 4th, so I'll give you that. The improvements he made from 1982 to 1983 and then to 1984 were remarkable.
But in '90, the tested show, he was badly off. Pretty much all torso.
JESUSgod awful arms in that posementzers arms DESTROY his hell, even bequeer might have him beat on arms LOLZ
