Weather is good here. Cool and not raining. Good thing too since the landscaper is working on part of the yard. A week ago the ground was frozen.

I went to the gym today and had a great full body workout. Cannot believe how easily I am adding weight to squats. I worried that they would fuck up my already fucked up knee but the opposite has been the case. My knee feels great. It looks like this week is going to be a two times workout week. I missed getting to the gym on Monday because we had a bunch of contractors here all day and I couldn't get away.

Delt and arms the day after Thanks Giving. I think I ate 6000 calories. I had to unbutton my pants. No warm ups listed

Press behind the neck 2 x 6 (I know doing these at my age with a bad shoulder is nuts)
Dumbbell laterals 2 x 10
One arm pulley laterals 1 x 10
Rear delt laterals 2 x 10
Shrugs 2  x 10

Weighted dips 2 x 10
traditional tricep push downs 2 x 10
Single dumbbell two hands tricep extension 2 x 10

ez bar curls 2 x 10
Pulley curls using a  straight bar 2 x 10
concentration curls 2 x 12

fourarm wrist curls 2 x 20
reverse wrist extensions 2 x 15

weighted crunches with lower legs on a bench 1 x 55
Pulley crunches 2 x 25

Ivanko gripper 2 x 20

Personally I could never go to a gym three times a day. 10 second sprints at my age would end in a ripped hamstring or calf. I find I lean out quick doing something like 8 x 440 yards intervals. Since I irritated my hamstring doing them last week I'm going to do slower 6 x 880 yard repeats tomorrow.

Home gyms are the best. I know many can't stand them. They enjoy working out with other people. More power to them. I just blast my radio and get to work. Motivation is never a problem.

I have a pretty good set up for a home gym. I'm going to down size my house in a year or two. Then I'm going the IronMaster Dumbbell route and an all in one bench. Just simplicity.

I have a pretty good set up for a home gym. I'm going to down size my house in a year or two. Then I'm going the IronMaster Dumbbell route and an all in one bench. Just simplicity.

Currently, I don't have the space for a home gym. Many years and a couple of properties ago, our house had a basement where I set up a home gym. The pluses as I remember them was the convenience of the gym being right there when ever you were ready to workout, the ability to workout wearing whatever was comfortable, including nothing at all in hot weather, and mostly no excuses for not working out.

There were some inconveniences too. It is hard for me to ignore interruptions. If the phone rang and it was a call I thought I should take, I would. If my wife needed help with something and called down to me, which was rare but it did sometimes happen, I'd drop what I was doing and help her. In a nutshell, there were distractions which I gave into.

As much as having a home gym again would be great, I like going to the gym. There is a lot of motivation there. There are people who have great physiques which give me something to shoot for, never mind that they may be decades younger than me. There are guys older than me who still show up and actually do something, they are an inspiration, should I be feeling old. The gym where I belong has such a huge array of equipment, it is impossible to have your workouts become stale.

Ideally, I'd like both a home gym and to keep my membership at the gym where I currently go and have worked out at for nearly 40 years.

i like a fairly close grip.. some use a wider grip for delts but will still hit upper back area.

I think I am ready to graduate to a split routine of some type. Yesterday I got about 80% through my workout and realized I'd been there for 90 minutes. I felt more tired than invigorated. It only took me about a month to get to this point, which was faster than I thought I'd progress. Going to hit the gym tomorrow and finish what I didn't get done yesterday. I'll probably start the split next week.
