I tried to do that with a towel. I just kind of hung there, was never good with pull ups.
At that time I was really concerned with Judo & my training was for this sole purpose so I was running & mainly training on the mats.
Pull-ups & exercises like squats with a partner over your shoulder like a fireman's lift were done.
Lots of sprints for explosive power.
I always had weights at home but Judo Randori on the mats was my only "obsession " 😄
