Never going to happen. Gays and gay culture are in control, both by design, and by happenstance, and have been since the beginning. I'm sure even back in the ole beer garden lifting contest days, there were some bear loving schomoes just thinking "yum ;D".

Let the women have a say. It is women who really pick men outside of bodybuilding, so allow them to take their naturally position as pickets of what is attractive to them. Set guidelines for aesthetics, symmetry, shape, conditioning, and allow them to pick.

Not speaking for all women, but most seem to prefer men who look like Brad Koenig.

Well we are talking about the realm of bodybuilding. The physiques would probably resemble those of MuscleMania. Facially, they probably be very aesthetic regardless of race.

There are male bodybuilders who are gay and bisexual of all ages and, just like the heterosexual ones their interests in becoming bodybuilders are just as varied as those of heterosexual bodybuilders.

Likewise, there are gay and bisexual bodybuilding fans of all ages with varied interests in bodybuilding as you will find in heterosexual bodybuilding fans. Although, just like most heterosexual women, most gay guys find bodybuilders equally repulsive.

Why do some feel bodybuilding must be a heterosexual property or that it must represent heterosexuality?

if they really wanted to de-gay and heterosexualize bodybuilding they could, but they dont seem to want to?

a few changes from the top of my head:

1. no costumes, outfits, bondage, chains, nails, superman boots etc
2. no thongs
3. no use of black rnb music
4. no stripper-posing

feel free to come with more suggestions

I'm deeply offended by you calling me gay.  :)

If you like bodybuilding even if you are heterosexual you are still defying patriarchy.  :)

I agree with joon here. Let the fags and drags have bodybuilding. It should definitely be an underground thing and not a mainstream thing because it only tells the youth that "even you can stack ton of ped's and get this lifestyle, and if you're poor, do gay porn to finance your journey to huge ripped glutes".

Let real power, endurance and performance athletes at most represent "greatness". What does bodybuilding represent, really? Developing your body for selfish reasons is vain as it is, but pro bodybuilding..... that's really something else.

You might be right or you could be wrong. Koenig is a husband and father of two. He's also a longtime men's fashion model for high-end fashion houses, such as Chanel. I guess his sexual orientation could come into question for some. I doubt many women are as concerned about this as are a lot of the "bodybuilders" on Getbig. Aside from all this, he's got great hair. LOL.

Wrong !

Just Schmoes ......(there's a difference)

If gays were in control or at least interested in Pro bodybuilding ... the sport would have had a multi media corporation or broadcasting outlets like Mtv. E! etc behind it .

Bodybuilding will never be mainstream or popular even in the most open-minded country because for most of the human population bodybuilding is closer to stripping than it is to sports because of obvious reasons. As I said before, even if someone tried to "heterosexualise" bodybuilding it will still retain its erotic nature either because the very act of standing almost naked hitting the poses is already an erotic act in itself and because most bodybuilders will keep preparing suggestive posing routines. One never has to forget that most men and women who do bodybuilding, to different degrees, pursue this activity because it also enhances one's sexual attractiveness. Some bodybuilders value sexual attractiveness achieved by building big muscles more than others but that element of the activity is valued by all bodybuilders, again, regardless of their sexual orientation.

Even suggesting the heterosexualisation of bodybuilding is already speaking about sex/sexuality applied to bodybuilding.

sell tickets and make sure ratio of audience is 90% female 10% male, obviously this means you will have 5 people show however as long as its a room of 500 men 10 women and 25 guys oiled up almost naked with very unmanly moves you will have this sport look stupid to most, forget the gay thing, im talking just looking stupid

I doubt it looks stupid to insiders. It appears some of you have a problem with people/bodybuilders being naked or almost naked. I don't get why it's such a big deal. Personally, I'd prefer to look at well-built naked people on the competition stage, both men and women, as opposed to obese folks who run around in various stages of undress in public places. While I have nothing against fat people, I would prefer not to be exposed to their naked bodies.

Bodybuilding is mainly a sausage fest. People parading on stage who look like pumped up "vainy" weeners... most people who prefer that kind of action are man2man getters with a few women in between.
Let them have it and move on.

Not disagreeing with you, but it does beg the question, what are all these supposed straight Getbigers doing on a bodybuilding orientated webpage?

If you get rid of thongs, get rid of posing routines with music and simply judged people on how they look etc BBing would be much better.

I am having difficulty forming a mental picture of this. Are you suggesting bodybuilders compete on stage sans thongs while just standing there not moving? -Seems it would be very weird to watch. At least let's have some music playing.  ;D
