People don't just go to church on Sunday.  Prayer Meetings are on Wednessday, Missionary Meetings Are On Thursday at the vast majority of churches.  Larger ones are open all day for day care, schooling, etc

churches should have security guards, just like every other massive group of people that assemble.

You don't put 5,000 people into a stadium for a coldplay concert and not have a shitload of security.  Why put thousands into a church (I have attended some that are huge) without a few quiet, disguised security guards? 

We cannot assume the sanity nor intentions of anyone.  Churches are a sacred place of worship for those of us that attened - but can be nothing more than a soft target with many elderly for a shooter.

Add more armed guards.  Opens up more jobs too.  They can hold doors too.  Even better, I bet many of the parishioners are retired military or police that'd do it for free just to help out.

there are only 2 answers - remove all the guns, or protect the soft targets. 

The guns aren't going away.  No way.  Too many people have them, too ingrained in our culture.  There will never be a ban - obama has gone liberal on every issues, and his only gun action was "make it harder for ex-cons to buy full-auto weapons" lol.   

The other option is to quietly protect soft targets full of people.  I'm betting a few people are armed in church already, quietly.  Just carry it everywhere else.  They don't advertise it, they just keep a pocket rocket with them 24/7.
