I feel like I'm trying with Dorian, Zane, Big Ron, and Arnold every time I look up my FLEX magazine posters in my bedroom.

If a person hired those pro's or any pro....

The pro would tell the client the same ole, same ole training advice from FLEX magazine. And the pro would hate every minute of it. They would secretly be wishing that the hour session would end as soon a possible.

i dont know folks, i think spending a day with dorian might be a cool experience he seems to be pretty funny, im sure he got a lot of stories to share and his technical knowledge seems to be spot on, im sure there's a few things to learn from that...

maybe his wife will join in.

frank zane on the other hand seems to be quite full of himself guru type of guy these days... talks about how he plays the harmonica, the flute etc not sure i could stand to listen to that, he probably bring out the flute (no homo) during training   :-\

You can't compare BB "fans" to fans of other sports. BB "fans" are narcissts, egoists and attention whores, and for the most part just fans of thier own appereance. They don't give a shit about the "legends of the sport" and to interact with em, you can't compare them to soccer or basketball fans cheering for their favourite team in the stadium every week.

A few years back in Germany a gym owner was proud to book Coleman for an exclusive seminar and training session in his gym, and widely promoted it on the boards and on social media. That's the most successful BB of all time flying in from overseas, and barely a handful of people showed up.

Most "BB fans" are considering themselves as way more important for this world than a Coleman, Yates or Zane could ever be lol

I trained with Marc Lobliner, and it wasn't by choice either.
I joined a smaller Metroflex gym in Tyler, TX and there was some sorta meet and greet going on.
Not that many people showed.  :D

Guy who looks like he is having an aneurism in the thumbnail is the owner of said gym.

Haha my thoughts exactly.

Now have you ever injected with a pro-bodybuilder...that would be a more fruitful exercise.

In the past I have trained with Mike Quinn, Chris Duffy, most recently Vladimir Senatus who was a pro but never got to compete on a pro stage. Also trained with plenty of top amateur bodybuilders from Florida. Have also trained with Lex Lugar and Lyle Alzado . Also trained with a bunch of other wrestlers Corporal Kirchner, Tatanka (Chris Chavis) and a other guys that were jobbers.

When I got really serious about lifting a couple years ago, I thought about ordering a routine from someone like Robbie or Mike O'Hearn

Not necessarily.

The ones I have trained with :

Paul Baker (the most times) funniest dude ever.  His story of him and Priest having to share a Smartcar in Europe will make you cry.
Vince Taylor (15-20 times)
Toney Freeman (about a dozen times)
Darrem Charles (once)
Bill Willmore (once, could have more times but the man's B.O. was ungodly awful)
Shabazz - too many times to count.  bat eared midget who is a perfect example of the karma bus coming around the corner at 90mph
Jonathan Rowe - great dude.  Lots of times, usually with Shabazz.  Could have been a damn amazing 212 guy, but loved motorcycles too much, by loving I mean "wrecking".  Between the accidents and his friendship with the seedy ass Rashid, I am surprised the guy could even afford food to go in his mouth.
Curly Top - couple of times joined us (w/ Rashid and Rowe )
Haney - a few times.  But his workouts were not very much to talk about.  (he was long since retired)  Best part was just listening him drop a few hints and common sense.
Coleman - twice.  (on a Fri and Sat) With Rashid and Jonathan at Ropeman's fitness in Atlanta.   Very open about anything you wanted to know.

Kenny Jones - couple of times.  (hey, he is a pro)

Have to admit the ones that I have learned the most from were Haney and Taylor.  The others were nothing like you see/read in the magazines.

Trained at Golds Venice, Golds Placentia and Block's gym in OC in late 80s/early 90s.  While I wasn't working in with them, saw them all train pretty much.  Was very inspired seeing Rich Gaspari in his prime and in shape doing dumbell curls in a tshirt.  Effing shredded and dense guns.

I think this is pretty much the best you can hope for, seeing a Pro and being inspired by it.  But you aren't going to gain any knowledge past the knowledge that certain things are possible for some and to train intensely.

Are you in south FL? I remember always seeing Paul Baker and Kenny Jones at the World Gym in Fort Lauderdale. I also know that Bill Wilmore is around the Palm Beach area I believe as well as Darrem Charles in Boca

Trained once with a pro strongman (Jimmy Marku) shortly before he got busted for dealing. Also trained with boxer Danny Williams but never a pro BB.

I'd love to hear from someone who (if there is such a person) who squatted rep for rep w/ Platz back in the early 80's.
I
