I think if I were that close to a fight, at this stage, I'd be transitioning into more explosive work than pure strength.
It would be composed of the 3 major lifts (as well as military), but it'd be more focussed on functional power to use in a fight.
I don't know if starting strength caters to that - just thinking about what I would do compared to what I do now, which is more conventional powerlifting programs with progressive overloads. I couldn't imagine training for a fight, close to the event and being sore as fuck from doing big deads etc.
Coach would know - but it will come with a barrage of people needling him over the success of his athletes
