this is the last time I am going to explain this....YES the amount of eligible people who can work and are not working is growing every year...AGREED....HOWEVER ..many of those eligible are not working due to many different factors...is it because some can't find a job?...YES...however the others are not employed for many reasons due to:

INCREASING AUTOMATION
COMPUTERS....in which a small businessman for example can do all the jobs on a computer that he used to need a lawyer, accountant, bookkeeper, and tax preparer for.
PREGNANCY
TAKING TIME OFF TO STAY AT HOME WITH KIDS (I did this for almost a year)
SEMI-RETIRED
DISABLED
MENTALLY ILL
COLLEGE STUDENTS
GROWN ADULTS STILL BEING SUPPORTED BY MOM AND DAD
SPOUSES BEING SUPPORTED BY THEIR SPOUSES
CHILDREN
PEOPLE WHO ARE TRYING TO START BUSINESSES
RETIREES
THE RICH WHO DONT NEED TO WORK
THOSE WHO ARE NOT RICH BUT LIVE OFF STOCKS AND DIVIDENDS
THOSE WHO LEFT WORK TO GO BACK TO SCHOOL
THOSE WHO NOW LIVE ABROAD (like all the former Nazi's who are now American citizens and receive SS)
CRIMINALS (who have no intention of getting a job)
ALREADY WORKING PART-TIME AND CONTENT WITH THAT

the labor participation rate has been going down for many many years....not just since Obama took office.......it will continue to go down because our population is skyrocketing UP

and I'm sure there are more I left out........like I said before, its a measure of our wealth as a nation that you don't see many of these people out on the street starving and dying like you see in other countries

Please shut the fuck up. The labor participation rate has not been in decline, it's actually been held pretty stable during strong economic growth times at around 66% which is the benchmark for a healthy economy.

Secondly, most of the reasons you list in your silly tirade are reasons rooted in the fact that people can't find jobs, or can't find full time employment in their field. They are either not working (not by choice) or working 10 hours a week doing something that's unrelated to the field of their trained expertise. As example, most young people living with their parents aren't there because they just love living with their parents so much that they decided to stay home and have family time, it's because they can't find a job to support themselves.

If you are going to engage in conversation with me you better have your statements backed up with facts. Your opinion means nothing.

The fact is we have more people looking for jobs who can't find them than the entire populations of many European countries. If you think that's somehow explained away with irrational, non-fact based delusion then keep on keeping on. I can't change stupid, I can only help the ignorant.
