If the man could bring some sort of direction or guidance to a group of men whose lives are no doubt filled with chaos and pessimism during such a difficult time, I don't understand how anybody could be against that.

Most would argue the guidance brought was based completely in delusion so it was inherently worthless despite it's sincerity.

Over the years, a guy like Kent has probably talked to hundreds or even thousands of people who have similar issues to those incarcerated(drugs, alcohol, family issues). Decades of real life experience and real life conversations with these people.

If you are sharing a jail cell with a guy like that you don't even have to share the same beliefs to at least take something of knowledge out of the conversation.

Unfortunately the staunch atheists of the world - who voice their objections louder than most - would even casually dismiss Kent's relevant life experience as inherently flawed since his primary motivation would be sourced from the "delusion of faith". 

It's extremely sad the motivations of some, but I pray that their hearts can be softened and Christ's message be truly heard and desired.
