It just looked like a couple of guys just rolling around. It was only after a few years of training when I went back and watched the tape again could see things that I would have never noticed before I started training.

What was I think starting an MMA thread on a bodybuilding board?

You come off sounding very butt hurt in this thread Pellius. McGregor toyed with Mendes the whole fight he just toyed with him. He didn't even bother to change up his style at all. He wasn't even slightly worried about the take down. He new he had five rounds to find that chin and that is exactly what he did. He predicted a ko in the second round and that is exactly what he did. Mendes looked lost in the stand up. He won by ko in the second round and people still pick a part his performance lol.

I'm not sure if Mccgregor can best Aldo but it's not going to be impossible. I think he can stalk him down and land one of the bricks he has for a left hand.

Just watched the fight again, mendes was hurt in the first, hunched over at points from the body shots. He also got rocked twice and fell into the cage.

The first was close, mendes did land the elbow, but he was up against the cage except when he got the take down.

looks more like an off balance slip to me. That fight actually proves that Aldo has a great chin. That, and the fact that he has not been beaten in 10+ years...... You would think he has taken quite a few shots in that timeframe.

That is what I was stating earlier.

I just wish we get another 2 or 3 years of McGregor fighting at 145 because he will almost certainly end his career at 155.

What are you talking about? I was merely stating that it was going overboard stating that McGregor has a "better" chin than Aldo.

How can you say that when Aldo has not lost in 10 years? How can you say McGregor has a better chin than someone who has never been KO/TK'od?

I thought McGregor looked comfortable most of the time on his back. He landed several effective strikes from that position as well. Mendes performed admirably, but McGregor was clearly the more versatile, skilled fighter.

I find it curious that Aldo withdrew from a bruised rib....seems like a fairly routine injury...wonder if he purposely avoided McGregor.
