This itsty bitsy spider must have thought it was over 6 feet tall and 250 pounds. I was taking out the trash and there was this black spider on the trash can. I stood about 3 feet away and stared at it. In a flash it quickly crawled down the trash can and charged me. I moved back and realized it somehow stuck me with it's web and the spider starts crawling the strand of webbing attached to me heading for my leg, I quickly swatted it and as it fell stomped on it.

What the fuck was this spiders deal? Did it think it can take me in a fight 1-on-1? Fucker had huge balls for such a small creature.

Many of these can be found in cellars here in Ostria and Germania - they are the only big ones... up to 3-4 inches in fully erect combat mode.

Movie was mesmerizing as a kid - same with Formicula.
I vividly remember the giant spider peeking through the windows and its mandibles looking like a vagina... good times.

ha ha, that is a great film. The title for U.S. release was...."Them!" As good as it is, it was nearly a lot better. The film was designed to be shot in Technicolor with binocular 3D. They could not raise all the money necessary so it was cut to a Black and White flat production. The "Ants" were designed to look good in color.

Interesting - that explains why the dvd case and movie poster are splattered with obscenely over saturated colors.

Oddly enough, Technicolor was capable of being very subtle in it's appearance. It was David O' Selznick, who insisted that "Gone With the Wind" be designed with very saturated colors that perpetuated the myth that Technicolor could only portray vivid colors.
