x2. It could have been he just forgot. Perhaps after saying hi to the pilot, he remembered that he should go back down and say hi to the marine. I am NOT saying this is 100% the case, but its not unheard of either. We don't know what was said between the pilot and Obama. Yet, republicans are ASSUMING the pilot threw him off the plane or said something. Like I said, at the end of the day, we dont know what was said between Obama and the pilot. And as Ive said previously, the pilot may or may not have reminded Obama to salute the marine. Who knows. What I think we can say for certain is that he did NOT throw him off the plane.

I just don't get how so many people view one party (whichever it may be) as good and wholesome with the best interests of the American people at heart, while the other party is evil and out to destroy America. If you look at an historical analysis of government spending since the end of WWII, both parties' presidents are almost exactly equal (don't have the reference off the top of my head but I could find it if anyone's interested). So basically the candidates all try to appeal to their base while running for election and just move to the middle once elected. Republicans have gotten us involved in more wars though, while democrats have passed more unnecessary regulation and tax increases. Also, the president had very little effect on the global economy, despite what some might think. So I just don't get why people get so up in arms about a certain political party.

Joe, you'd fall for anything.  The president is not required to return a salute and if a pilot even so much as questioned him, he would have faced a court martial and thrown out of the military.... its something that Reagan started for political reasons.  

In any event, Obama came back down on his own to shake the man's hand and apologize for not acknowledging him even though there was no reason to do so.  Both Bushes, Clinton, and ironically Reagan have forgotten many times to do their little salute.  Its was stupid to begin with because the general rule is that you have to be IN A MILITARY UNIFORM!!
