I know three guys who've gotten married to single moms in the last year and another guy is marrying one next month. I'm not sure what's more disturbing, that there's so many single moms or guys marrying a chick to take after a kid that's not theirs.

Lots of people seem to do it.

My girl has no kids and we aren't having any, and of course my kids live with my ex wife.

I've dated women with kids... Some dads stay around, and some disappear. My kids step-dad knows what's up and knows I'm always around.

Depends on the dad as to whether it's an issue.

Here's a hint, if the woman says my "baby daddy", run away as fast as possible.

If they say ex husband, then you're probably ok.

Do not automatically assume that the new father will be their to take care of the kid. I know a guy who got married to a single mom, but the biological father is extremely active in the child's life. The guy I know, of course, plays a role in the kids life, since he lives with them. But he in no way "takes after" the kid. All decisions come from the biological mother and biological father. The step-father just kind of chills back. He offers support when needed, but hes not playing daddy either.

That's how it is with my ex-wife and I.

My decisions are still the way it's going to be.

I'll generally be cool about most things, but if I'm fundamentally opposed to something, then that shit isn't happening.

Always funny to hear her demand more child support money over the phone to her ex while sitting at dinner and she's paying for it.

I see your post have been approved by the ever so mighty Wes, but mid 20's can be deceiving. Most of them are just waiting to fall apart and it happens fast after mid 20's. Too much of a gamble for me.

I'd wait until 32 or so.

Like I said, I got fucking lucky. You can tell what she will end up like usually though... Just look at her mom. They ALWAYS look like their mom when they get older.

If mom looks pretty fit, she'll be good to go.

I've had one wife, one child and one dog. After my marriage ended there was no way I would take on another woman's child.

Now I hang with a women eleven years younger who has never had kids and has a great job.

I agree and learned the hard way. Although nothing wrong with marrying a wealthy woman or a woman with a great career. I know a guy that just married a top Boston merger and acquisition attorney and he's living like a king. My gf is a top executive for a privately owned IT company. When it sells she's all set finically. This is her second start up with the same CEO.

It seems the housing boom caused a lot of couples to procreate and buy a house they can't afford. Market crashed. Forclose on home which leads to hate and divorce and some chick with a kid or two with shattered dreams. Almost any hot chick I see in her 30s has a kid or two.

Marrying a chick with a kid is cool if the biological father is around and not a complete loser. Raising someone else's kids is another thing all together.
