Phil is free to express that opinion, and he's right on Arnold's legs, so what's the big deal?

Its about the context. If Phil was having a discussion with someone and was critiquing bodybuilders from the 70's, then it would have been fine.

But Phil said it to get back at Arnold for saying that many of the bodybuilders today have guts. It was immature and vindictive and was not well played.

For me, its all about the context behind the statement.

It was a bit childish, I agree with that, but you see this happen all the time; bodybuilding is a visual thing, so calling someone out for heaving weak spots is an easy (and childish) thing.
Arnold is free to have his opinion about today's bodybuilding, but on the other hand he's giving the current pro generation a stage. If he wants that classic look, than why isn't there a classic BB class (=weight to height limit) on the AC, like we have in Europe?

I can't answer all of that. All I know is that Arnold was giving an honest critique about todays bodybuilders, and Phil shot back at him like a 4 year old.

And to say Arnold had NO legs is just stupid

priest is alot stronger , trains harder and has way better form than that clown phil as well.

In that video, Priest looked to be pre-contest and was doing 3 plates on incline. Reps were slow and controlled, and he was not breathing heavy.

Phil is doing 4 plates on a hammer strength press and is huffing and puffing like he just ran 5 miles.

yeah you got that right , phil is lucky he didnt compete in the 90's if he did he would up have doing gay porn.

If Arnold were competing now, I don't think he would be Mr. I. I think he be a 300+ pound guy with a wide waist. Freaky yes, but aesthetically he would look like Gunter.

Arnold looked best at his lighter weight, when start to add weight, one's flaws start to become more apparent. Like Flex, he didn't have a wide back or lat spread, so when he got bigger the added weight accentuated that flaw.

Not necessarily he may have went the Shawn Ray route and decided to forego ( although Shawn may have been on GH )  GH & Insulin because he didn't want to ruin his aesthetic appeal

No, Flex didn't have a wide back. I meant "like Flex" as using Flex as an example

No, I think Arnold is the type to do whatever it takes to win, and he is 6'1-6'2, so that means he would have plenty of room to fill out, unlike Shawn Ray. Gunter was over 300 pounds and was about the same height as Arnold.
