Came into this thread expecting to read the usual absolute bullshit from people whos parents brainwashed them early on..."how do you explain that there still be monkeys, if evolution waz true?!", and i definitely was not let down.

However, i learned something new. I always thought coach was a pretty legit conservative, but this thread proves hes a social neo-con, and in which case, is not to be taken seriously on virtually anything he posts. He always shyed away from religious shit, so I had this feeling he was different. But, no...he is actually Incapable of seeing (or admitting), that the religious poison is preventing his "party" of winning elections now because he is what we call a "blind loyalist".

People my age laugh at these old loons like carson and these other old fogies like huckabee talking about hot button topics like abortion and gays to drum up support from their loudest base of uneducated bile belt voters because its easy votes. The left does the same with inner city votes as they market tp their base on issues like min. Wage and other hot buttons they care about. Its issues that any christian from the sticks can rally behind and understand easily, "carson is against them big city libs who kill babies and dont pray to jeebus, they also makin pastors marry faggz!" and the left voters can understand the "we need more moniez, they gonna give me more welfare for ma 9 kidz".

and honestly, anyone who seriously says "liberal universities" , is someone i probably would distance myself from in real life. Coach, not gonna send your kid to one of those colleges full of libs where they learn basic science from experts in the field because of your own insecurities and lack of understanding?
Sf1900 , 240, and others are pretty open minded anc concede on lots of things. For example, im pro gun, fiscally conservative, and want to legalize drugs...all true conservative stances. However, your "party" wont ever get my vote until they drop the religious noise. Until that date, ill cast my vote for intelligence..every time. Science is how we Have progressed. Religion, is how you digress. You can look to the middle east for those examples.

Whatever, you will always be one sided and view the world from your sheltered island. This whole presidential voting and side picking is just adult fandom anyway. Just a distraction. Nothing more or less than Caitlyn Jenners struggles or redskins vs the cowboys drama. Once one of these goons gets put into the white house, its business as usual, so stop acting like it fucking matters or your life is some how going to be changed neg or positive because it WONT. The hyper political bullshit is just a way of feeling like you have something important to worry about, but all its doing is making your blood pressure bad and alienating friends, clients, and family. Its just so retarded on so many levels. Adults with too much free time is basically whats going with the politics shit lol

Edit: i also find it sooo odd that no outspoken republican/conservative on this forum or others I read EVER criticizes the religious bullshit that republican politics is so heavily on these days. I never see anyone mention it. Ill pick apart liberal agenda all day long like PC bullshit, and feminist crap. Never once do I see a republican call out this christian witch craft. I know you true conservatives are out there somewhere

Yes i vote liberal usually (not always at the local level), and my post earlier explained why. I also vote on Issues not party, as any american SHOULD. I am early thirties. Now feel free to address my first post, or ignore it as usual and use little jabs instead like "making libs angry again"... So dry and dull. Are you incapable of having a real discussion and conceding on some ground, or am I right that you are 100 percent a blind loyalist?

Liberals are very smart when it comes to academics. Get most of them outside of their element and they're  socially lost, confused, etc

Just troll. Its fun. To be honest, outside of getbig, I never even follow politics lol. I don't discuss politics in real life really.  I spend most of my time reading about psychology, philosophy, ethology/zoology, neuroscience, and anthropology. I have recently become interested in the intersection of art and philosophy. Ive only voted ONCE in my life, and I voted for the Independent Party in 2012. Other than that, I will never enter a poll booth again.

But its fun watching the idiotic, hyper-political people on getbig get their panties in a bunch.  :D :D

See, what did I tell you! You can't argue with stupid.

Many academic are adept at diverse fields of study. You'd be surprised how many academics are into cross-disciplinary work. Its actually quite common. The idea that taking them out of their element and they are lost is erroneous. Ive met A LOT of liberal professors that are brilliant in their area of study, yet I have had more personal conversations with them in real life, and they are socially smart, friendly, and very smart in many ways. Again, you cant argue with stupid.

What areas are liberals lost and confused?

They are smart in academics, you'd admitted that.

What areas are they 'lost' in?

1) Please elaborate. Do you disagree that they're liberal, or are you saying you WANT liberal universities?

2) I'm also bothered by the bible's influence on Republicans. Wish they'd embrace social liberalism, and science, more importantly. Though, to me, the lesser of two evils is still the candidate who favors smaller government and supports fiscal conservatism. Unfortunately, Libertarians are still not a viable alternative; plus, they got a few silly policies of their own.

3) I've criticized them plenty, most of my posts just go unnoticed is all. And I never visit the political board. HATE that every candidates have to toe a party line across the board. Honestly wish we could do away with the two altogether, so each candidate decides on issues individually, rather than accept someone else's pre-determined ideology wholesale.

All due respect, I'll never understand how 'common sense' conservatives suddenly shift gears when it comes to sacred fairy tales and an invisible magician.

it really worries me that they are people around me that believe that theres a being that controls the universe and can tell them what to do. I mean people that say God told me to do x y z... very disconcerting.

Does this bother anybody else?

Not at all. I've long since accepted that Wiggs' people are of lower intelligence and therefore more taken with fairy tales and easier to control with drugs, money and immediate satisfaction. If it keeps the apes from rioting and murdering believing that a powerful being pulls the strings somewhere in the universe and will rain fire on them, then have at it.

Africans tend to be very religious and superstitious. It's in the DNA.

I get the same thing. Just as conservative as those in my circle, but when they start discussing talking snakes, a 600 year-old floating zookeeper, and the great dinosaur hoax, I instantly become a socialist libtard.

Troubling, as there's no future in this type of ignorant mindset. More troubling still that this overwhelmingly represents the party's base.

Very refreshing to read your posts bro, there are far too few of people like you, common sense REAL conservatives. Reading this board you would think they dont exist. Coach probably thinks your a "librul".

Ben Carson: No apologies for 1992 fetal tissue research

Source: Washington Post

Ben Carson defended the use of fetal tissue for medical research Thursday, after a blog published excerpts of a 1992 paper describing work the neurosurgeon-turned-presidential candidate carried out using aborted fetuses. In an interview with the Washington Post, Carson called the revelation "desperate," and ignorant of the way medical research was carried out.

"You have to look at the intent," Carson said before beginning a campaign swing through New Hampshire. "To willfully ignore evidence that you have for some ideological reason is wrong. If you’re killing babies and taking the tissue, that’s a very different thing than taking a dead specimen and keeping a record of it."

Carson, who has risen in primary polls since last week's debate, is among the Republicans who've condemned Planned Parenthood after undercover videos revealed executives in the organization coldly discussing the extraction and distribution of tissue from aborted fetuses. In a July interview on Fox News, after the first videos broke, Carson said that there was “nothing that can’t be done without fetal tissue" and that babies aborted at 17 weeks were clearly human beings.

That inspired Dr. Jen Gunter to excavate a 1992 paper, co-authored by Carson, in which doctors described how they applied "human choroid plexus ependyma and nasal mucosa from two fetuses aborted in the ninth and 17th week of gestation." That, wrote Gunter, was quite the contrast from Carson's 2015 denunciation of fetal tissue research.
