Do you know how many people would be charged for assault just by threats? Imagine you playing with your band on a Sat night, and you are between sets. You get into with a dude who doesn't know your rep on Getbig...so, you tell him that you'll beat him like he stole a grapefruit....he promptly calls the police to file charges for terroristic threats or threats to assault.
I was playing a rowdy bar once... two guys were squaring off, puffing up, acting like wimps, no punches, just bumping. So my brilliant ass grabs the mic and goes "let's get ready to ruuuuuuuumble!"
Suddenly it was like 5-on-4, broken tables, glass everywhere, cop cars pulling up, girls diving behind every white knight dude in the place... I've played bars since 98, this was the only group fight I've seen. Bad one.
And my singer got all on my case, like I started it. I just interjected some contemporary Buffer phrasing, I didn't hit anyone.
