You don't wing 3 degrees.

Don't take this personal

But if you had to take three degrees and you're still working low paid jobs, this tells me you're academical and intelligent but not smart. I was already hitting a 6 figure salary in my late 20s before I even did my masters.

I was good at making decisions, winning people over and selling myself...this unfortunately doesn't get taught at university.

People skills and EQ (Emotional Intelligence) can go farther than academic degrees!

But if you had to take three degrees and you're still working low paid jobs, this tells me you're academical but not smart at all. I was already hitting a 6 figure salary in 20s before I even did my masters.

I understand what your saying.  I'll say this, I could make a lot more money than I am but I decided I'm not going to do that anymore unless it was in something I like.  So it's a moral thing. I don't want to work 10,11,12 hours and be on call or anything else and have alot less time to enjoy life.  I've been through that before in something I really was indifferent to doing and thought, why the fuck am I doing this?  Just because this is what Americans define as being "successful"? So lets just say I sell myself short and it's no ones fault but my own.  I'm not complaining though. I'm happy. My only source of income isn't just security. I'll leave all that stuff up for your guys to rumor about since it's been going on for so many years.  As I've said many times before, I do alright and I'm happy but it's not just because of money it's because of where my head is. Wouldn't have believed it 3-4 years ago.

BTW Skorpio, I want to apologize for the preemptive attack. You didn't deserve that and I could have and should have expressed by feelings in a more civilized manner.  I was wrong.

I understand not wanting to be sucked into jobs that take over your life...unfortunately as soon as someone pays you well they want your soul...I'm in the process of breaking out of that right now as my stint has served it's purpose and my next goal is regaining my freedom and owning my own time 7 days a week.

No need to apologise, I'm thick skinned and we got to bash opinions over each other's heads and I do see your point and agree with some of the things you said and when you called me "joke NEGRO" I laughed my head off. It was a funny punch line.

Aren't you going run Joon's nightclub in Mirabel?  Sounds like a soul sucking job to me.

I judge my wealth by how happy my family is. Money can help with that, but not always.

I've only gotten good at this in the last 5 years and honestly that's when things improved in the workplace.  Took me a long time to understand the importance.....I was naive.

Because of that improvement today there was merely rumor at my workplace that I was interviewing outside the company and I was promoted.

10 years ago they woulda let me leave no questions asked LOL!  It's about confidence, presentation, showmanship, networking.....education is important, but it certainly isn't everything....everybody has a frickin degree.   I've interviewed qualified MBAs that couldn't even answer "tell me about yourself".

Sorry, but that does not prove youre "smarter" than anyone else. Salary has nothing to do with being "smart." One can be smart in the same sense as you, but chose a career (teacher, nurse, social work) that just doesn't afford the opportunity to make a 6 figure salary.

Some people may be very good at decision making, winning people over and selling themselves. Their careers may just not involve "winning people over" and "selling themselves" in that regard.

That's good, I respect your value system, you done well in that respect.
But don't compare yourself to someone who lost a kid, never got over it of his x and has a death wish

i watch my mother go through something similar, my dad died in a car accident in 98 then on Christmas night in 2000 my 19 y/o sister get killed in a drunk driving accident.  Does adversity get any worse than that?  She knew she had to be strong for the rest of us and overcame her own disparity, I'm not saying she doesn't wake up and go to be everyday thinking about it but she was able to mold herself into the rock the rest of my family relies on.

You didn't disagree with me in the above, you just took my generic comment and come up with non-ordinary examples "some people".

I was implying that a degree doesn't guarantee success and a prosperous future, but if you have a decent degree under your belt and know what to do and where to go with it and deliver when you get that job interview and thrive in the job by winning over the right people...a lot of these skills are as Kwon said EQ related.

That's 241 quid, you need to request the equivalent buying power....which IMO is £500 which is 1031 CAD.

That's a fair deal, Potato needs to be fed ethical range organic chicken.

Joons determination to show us all how he is winning by talking about his cars money etc

has brought me to post this

i had an realisation once a moment of pure clarity

nothing and i mean nothing of any value can be bought with money

compare your child laughing in unbridled joy to anything you could buy - no contest not even close

compare the beauty of a summers morning or of waves crashing on golden sand to the bricks and mortar of a house you buy - no contest not even close

we live in a consumer led society where we judge each other by our perceived wealth based on objects we temporarily own

we are looking with blind eyes my friends blind eyes

What about being rich though means you aren't happy? ....you know...like when your child is laughing on a summer morning while you listen to the waves crash off the brick and mortar of your beach house on a Monday?
