...I always thought the only bodybuilder who could get away with wearing glasses in physique pics was Nasser...maybe Mentzer.
Shit, after glancing through some of the pages over at bodybuilding.com, boy am I glad I'm a member HERE. That 'flame war' was the most boring piece of crap I've read. The pics I've seen of Layne, while good for a natty, aren't much against other top nattys. Plus he's always got this semi-retarded (maybe not so semi) look on his face like he's grinding his way through a colonoscopy or something...some guys just aren't photogenic I suppose.
How come Bob doesn't post such entertaining posts here!???!...what the hell. I guess he does have a contract with bb.com ...
My two cents on arguing training, it's pretty simple. If something works for you, and you're winning contests, then you can have a leg to stand on in advising others. If you don't win, then you better keep quiet till you do win....otherwise, be prepared to get flamed. Looks like Layne was a mod...not good for credibility sake.
And finally, listening to certain guys talk about science in bodybuilding is hilarious. Seriously, I can find a 'scientific' study that will pro and con EVERY topic out there. So in the end, use common sense. But don't discredit others, thinking you know something they don't when you haven't won a regional competition....OR think that your method is 'better' than someone elses.
You need time in the game to 'balance' your eagerness to share your info with others, and in reality it needs to be proven at least in your own experience....in this case, his experience is far too brief to espouse his 'knowledge'.
It's kinda like arguing with H.I.T. advocates...COMPLETELY a waste of time.
