Kai just launched Dynamik Muscle today so if he competed and took anything below 2nd, it may affect overall sales.  By not competing....if that's the case, he protects his image in being No.2 as well as the uncrowned Mr Olympia

What a bunch of bullocks.  If he's scared to compete, he could just stage a fake ninja car jacking too.  He's reliant on exposure, which will be the driver for his fart powder sales.  If he were to place 3rd, it would be of little consequence vs placing 2nd for sales.  And being an uncrowned Mr. O counts for zilch.  Every guy that doesn't win is uncrowned.  It's a stupid moniker for losers that aren't good enough to actually win.  He should spend more time actually working on winning, instead of signing posters pretending.  He's the pretend Mr. O.

   I respectfully disagree with you in that the 2nd Place Prize Money is NOT "chump change" to Kai nor any other athlete in a fringe sport such as bodybuilding.  When the sport in
which you are involved can not get competitive air time on ESPN and awards less prize money to its competitors than Professional Arm Wrestling and Competitive Eating, you just can't
walk away from your biggest competitive payday of the entire year.  Kai has invested too much effort into diet, training and "supplements" to forego competing in the Mr. Olympia which
just by virtue of its free publicity is worth 6 figures in terms of exposure and marketing.  And before you say that Kai doesn't need more exposure, every athlete attempting to raise his
brand needs more exposure especially one launching a new product line with his own name and no annual guaranteed salary coming off at least $400,000 guaranteed per year.
  There is no investor or manager or handler who would ever advise Kai, at this, the most critical juncture of his professional career, to pass on the Mr. Olympia.

It's interesting that you say this, given the money they have to spend on prep. Which leads me to ask whether you know roughly what a top level Olympia prep regime costs? Even just a ballpark figure?

he arguably has the biggest following in bodybuilding.
every expo, guest appearance the biggest queues of people are there lining up to see Kai.
nobody has a bigger fan base today than Kai and that includes Phil.
it's not even comparable in truth.

its just common sense, probably exactly as someone here said already - likely a dispute over his new line having a booth at the expo.
all openings surely have been sold and he probably came in too late and is kicking a fuss because they're not making room.
they'll fold and give Dynamik a booth, he'll compete, all will be good.
