He's right. Private property owners can forbid it. He's incorrect that it is de facto illegal. If you carry a gun on private property that is posted against it, the best the property owner can do is sue you for trespass, as your invitation was essentially revoked when you broke his posted rules.

Clear infringement of the right to bear arms.  His condition of invitation ought to be invalid, no?

No. The BoR is a list of things that the government may NOT do. It is silent on the private affairs of men.

Disagree.  The right of property ownership does not extend so far as to allow civil legislation to override the BoR.  To uphold a civil suit of trespass because someone had a gun is to uphold a law that infringes the right to bear arms.

I too miss the touch of my beloved firearm.  Knowing that it's always there to take care of me.  Sleeping with me, close by, keeping me safe.  Ohhhhhh, how I miss her dearly.  We had a relationship that cannot be described in words.   :'(

same.

Well, every court up to and including SCOTUS disagrees. So enjoy your lonely opinion.

That's because there's a conspiracy to take your guns.  It's the thin end of the wedge.  Heed my words.  Heed them.

When talking shotguns, Browning again is at the top, the A-5 has got to be the best all around , reliable, hard to "screw up" shot gun ever built.

Simply put, almost perfection

There is a concerted effort to take away guns, but it isn't being spearheaded by the individual rights of property owners. It's being spearheaded by collective rights and the weight of government.

I have to carry, because everyone around me carries.  I don't want the ones who carry to take my guns from me.  Therefore, I carry, so I have a chance.   :-\

You'd do more damage if you put it in a sock and beat the guy with it.

You are not a gun owner. No gun owner would feel this way. You are a poor troll.

If I was in a room full of gun owners, I would feel I was I the safest place on earth.

Not a gun owner?  Please, I've got enough guns to arm my entire neighborhood, and enough ammo to last a lifetime.  Pfffffft!   ::)

It's partially justified and partially just the John Moses Browning bigotry of gun owners. The 1911 is big, relatively heavy "single stack" (read: holds less ammo) that shoots a big bullet. It's quintessentially American: overweight, made of solid steel, with a small number of haymakers.

That said, the shootability of the platform is great. The barrel axis (how low the barrel sits in relation to your wrist) is very low and that makes for much more controllable recoil. Only the Glock comes close these days.

It's not a beginner's gun, as there are a lot of controls on it that beginners can forget. I shot a comp with mine and forgot to disengage the manual safety out of the holster. Cost me more than a second. I wasn't gonna win anyway, but that was embarrassing.

Interesting, the 1911 popped up in many magazines I used to read.

OK. But your comments still baffle me. Especially the comment about the fact that you carry because everybody else does and how they will somehow take your guns away.

The more people that carry legally, the safer you are.

If you come into my house, or want to work in my place of business, I can tell you how I want you to dress, words I want and don't want you to use, what kind of haircut you have, what you can bring or not bring....

Ever see a sign on some restaurants that say, "No shirt not service"?
Or those fancy restaurants that require a coat and tie?

UFC requires that their fighters wear Reebok gear and only Reebok gear.

All perfectly legal.

You don't seem to understand what the Constitution and the Bill of Rights applies to.

If I was surrounded by goblins all day, that little poodle-shooter wouldn't do much for my safety-meter.

If it is in company policy, you can get fired.
