You completely miss the point.. What happened to the woman has NOTHING to do with why she went to jail. She went to jail because she was ordered to appear in court and didn't. Period..  If that becomes a "case by case" decision the entire judicial process fails. Witnesses do not have the "option" to appear if ordered.

I get that it sucks. NOBODY thinks the victim is as fault. She failed to appear and had to spent a couple nights in jail. That's the law. How that has anything to do with "victim blaming" makes ZERO sense.

This is why some people do well in life and others do not. Life is hard - its harder when you are stupid. Not showing up to court when you were subpoenaed is STUPID.

The judge was TRYING TO PUT AWAY THE PERSON WHO BEAT HER because he commited a laundry list of other crimes and she deliberately sabotaged it by violating a court order letting him go free.


She got only 3 days in jail.  Not much but she deserved it
