With Moss and Branch they did air the ball out a lot more but as Brady got older the game changed a lot for him in more shorter passes.  Luckily for him now he can throw a 5 yard slant to Gronk and Gronk will mow his way another 20 yards for a TD.

That's the damn truth right there.

That's true but only with a receiver like Moss. Otherwise they've always done dink and dunk to their other receivers the majority of the time (branch, welker, etc.) it seems like. A byproduct of mainly just not having randy moss, not necessarily them changing anything. Brady probably can't do that anymore and even back then it was more Moss being Moss/playcalling but IMO the system has generally been the same overall for awhile now.

Dink/dunk/dink/dunk  Brady is basically Alex Smith with a clever coach and the benefit of chronic cheating in every phase of the game.

Stauhbach, Bradshaw, Marino, Stabler, Theisman  ALL would have won as many rings as Brady with his teams- Bradshaw did, I forgot for a second

Loved Stabler ..... RIP

Aside from Marino, they all played for great teams. It was also in the pre- salary cap era when teams could stay together year after year.

I'm not saying Brady is the best ever (impossible to compare eras) but he's certainly in the conversation.

IMO Brady has been the best with limited WR talent.

For all the hate Brady gets, it really is amazing how far he has progressed since being drafted.

You don't see quarterbacks progress/bloom into better players anymore; if a quarterback struggles after being drafted, he is only in the league for 1-3 years. Look at Christian Ponder, soon to be EJ Manuel, Jimmy Clausen, Brady Quinn, etc. etc.

True but Brady never really struggled in the NFL...Patriots won the Super Bowl in his first full year.

I don't know  much about sports as some of you scholarly sport people, but the whole point is to have a good team. So, to say that he only wins super bowls because he has a good time behind him, well, duh, that is the main goal of any sport organization--to have a good team, not just ONE good player, and have everyone else suck. There is probably not one superbowl team who didn't have a pretty damn good team overall. The greatest quarterback is not going to win with a bunch of 3rd stringers. Get real.  ::) ::)

Brady has the best arm mechanics of any QB. He throws the ball straight over the top. He once said when he throws, he tries to graze his arm with the right side of his helmet. Said it takes almost no effort to throw like that. And puts the least amount of stress on the shoulder/arm. Even when he throws the occasional deep ball, he doesn't throw the ball as hard as he can. Said he wants to play to 45 years old minimum...

There's a theory that Manning is having a awful year because he can't grip the ball. Some say that Manning liked his balls around the 10psi range. Now that the NFL is watching ball pressure like a hawk, Manning can't do what Brady was accused of doing and has to play with legal inflated balls. Yet Brady is having one of his best years with balls are within NFL's range. You'll never hear about ESPN investigating that story because of their love for everything Manning...

In a couple years you can put Patriots fans in the mix as well.

So?

A couple years is a long reign.

Tom Brady is going to be President though.

Joe Montana is a shut in homo, Tom Brady is a multimillionaire who married a super model that makes more money than him. :D

There's all kinds of ways to be a winner and Tom Brady looks them all covered.

Brady also didn't take any money from Under Armor in his endorsement deal. Took it all in stock. Some are saying he now owns 8% of Under Armor...Which means his endrosement deal could be worth upwards of half a billion dollars in 10 to 20 years...

Aaron Rodgers sat, I think it's an advantage. But Brady and Rodgers were behind good guys, they both went late in the draft.

Peyton is the most prolific passer in the regular season and Montana was the closest to flawless in the postseason.  Whoever the greatest ever is depends on how you weight the post season.  Montana and Bradshaw both had perfect Super Bowl records.  That's quite a bit different from Brady's and Manning's result in the biggest games of their lives.  Aaron Rodgers is playing the position right now better than anyone has ever.  He pushes the ball downfield with fewer mistakes than anyone has ever made.  His TD to Int Ratio is 4-1.  He throws for a greater % of TDs/pass and fewer Int's/pass than both manning and Brady.  His passer rating for his career is 10 points higher than theirs as well.
Come get me.

Rodgers didn't go late.  He was drafted in the 1st round and was the number 2 QB overall chosen that year.
