I feel the same way. It's like raw clams on the half shell that's popular at this shore region where I live.  You can eat raw clams for a life time but when you hit the one with bacteria that you couldn't smell prior it will be coming out of both ends for days. It happened to me.
oh for sure,,rich I never eat those either and I love seafood too...esp from your area its so good those raw clam bars/shrimp/mussels/clams I can go on and on...

Gotta weigh in here now cuz my main fellow headcase man Ceph is in the house now.
Keto did these things to me (and when i say keto, i mean anabolic diet-cheese, beef, full fat anything, oils, butter, green veggies and no carbs but maybe once a week). I did this for almost 8 weeks with no change in body comp or muscle growth.

-unpleasant personality
-Sever brain fog (to the point of not being able to grasp words i needed to use from my head, like would freeze)
-lipids all over the place (high as shit), triglycerides higher than when i was eating balanced diet (was still doing some heart health cardio)
-breath smelled awful
-overall uncomfortable with body,  didnt feel good
-bp was still semi high
-weight stayed same, and my wife even commented that i wasnt looking as good (dammnnn!)
-social outings with wife or friends became a hassle (thong, why are u not eating potatos), wife giving me dirty looks for not being a normal human like everyone else (for most anti social, always single, getbiggers this wont be an issue)
-not possible as a lifestyle, as much as you read or hear people say otherwise.

Strange because Keto advocates say that initially you get listless and foggy but once in full ketosis that they had full energy and felt amazing.  I tried keto once.  Zero carbs for over 2 weeks, got those keto sticks that you pee on and if they turn color it means there's ketones present in your piss.  I pissed on a dozen sticks and none of them changed color.  I said fuck it and went back to eating carbs.

Dessicated liver tabs
Weider Anabolic Mega Paks AM
Weider Anabolic Mega Paks PM

^^ before my time though... saw the ads in the old M&F mags in the gym

Personally, the worst thing I have ever tried was that 24 hour bicep routine.  Where you took two exercises (barbell curl and dumb bell concentration curl) and alternating by doing one set each half hour.

Crippling tendinitis from that.

Yup

I tried the "add one inch to your arms in 24 hours" thing.

Was doing curls/tricep presses all day and eating eggs and shit.

I wish I could have handled it as I was making decent gains until I developed the digestive issue.

Never thought to try digestive enzymes at the time though I have used them in the past..........I just felt so terrible I gave up on the idea.

One thing I`ll say is that tons of guys told me I`d get Salmonella (sp),but I never did and I ate a veritable ton of raw eggs.
^^
One of the "truths" I believe in is that the digestive enzymes MAKE the eggs more digestible and aid in the general well-being of the digestive tract.
Since I've been taking them, I've never been constipated or even had pains.

No harm in trying it again for a few days, just remember to take your digestive enzyme tabs!!
THIS TIME, it might just be what you were looking for in nutrition!
It's cheap too!!

Almost every morning I have a protein shake with a couple of raw eggs in there. I like the taste.

Yeah,I can deal with the taste, but my problem was just eating too damn many of them along with other meals thrown in.

"Digestive overload" is what Vince Gironda called it and it was a fitting description.  :D

Bulking was the thing back in the day. I was a super lean sprinter in college. Then I spent about 10 years drinking gain weight shakes and lifting heavy. I really think I damaged my health doing that. If you have a choice in life of being a perma bulker or lean you should choose lean every time.

I also fell for the supplement nonsense like I guess we all do in our twenties. Just when you realize it's all bs there is another crop of twenty somethings putting out big money for the latest greatest snake oil scam.

x2

I always wonder if bulking permanently altered my body in a really bad way.  Before bulking, I could eat more or less instinctively and never gain an ounce of fat.  Then, for years, I stuffed my face with 4500-6500 cals a day.  I experienced hypoglycemia after huge bowls of oatmeal, felt awful all the time, and said farewell to pumps, soreness, and the like pretty much for good.

Of course, I did tons of other dumb stuff during this time as well, so it's impossible to say what effect the bulk had.  But I can't help but wonder if I gained some permanent degree of "insulin resistance" as a result.

All the literature states that it insulin resistance is completely reversible, tho.

It would be hilarious if "bulking" altered a person's DNA to insure that they are forever a fat fuck.

When I permabulked I was constantly hungry. I'd eat a huge meal and be hungry like an hour later. I constantly sweat and smelled.

Insulin Resistance is an excellent example of the cluelessness of the medical establishment.

The reason for the resistance is the cells protecting themselves from damage. It's actually a sign that the body is functioning properly.

The action that is causing the reaction called Insulin Resistance is overconsumption of carbohydrates.
