I have defended DLB whom I actually dislike (at least the image she portrays). But I defend, admire, and encourage their success. Bostin is 23 years old and he's already a successful business owner working for himself and a home owner when most his age are still living with their parents. DLB has built a successful and lucrative career doing what she loves. And people were bashing her house in the country surrounded by nature and animals when most here are living in apartments or their neighbors are just a few yards away.

It use to be that Americans admired success and tried to emulate it. Now the trend is toward jealousy and resentment.

Sure there's nothing wrong if you want to live in a tiny house or drive a 2008 Toyota Corolla even if you were multi millionaire. But don't come off as somehow aesthetically superior to someone who lives in a mansion and drives a Rolls.

And don't be a naive fool. Money does change very, very much a person's taste. If you suddenly became a billionaire you will find that your trips to Taco Bell and Target will become less frequent. You might even buy a new car a bit more frequently. Traveling to different countries and going on cruises suddenly makes it on the "things to do" list. The shoes you wear suddenly grow old and need to be replaced a lot faster than before. And you just never seem to have enough to fit the right occasion.
