All I said was that Trump didn't have it easy. He started out in brooklyn, his dad gave him a small loan of one million dollars, you know, he started from brooklyn and his father gave him a small loan of one million dollars. Looks like an expensive brothel. Typical nouveau riche tragic and sad show-off place. Dubai is full of such shit

Dubai is a beautiful place. Too bad you will never have the funds to travel there.

Again, please enlighten us and tell us how you would furnish your abode if you were a billionaire. Show us how your living room compares to this "sad" place.

Yes, of course you will find a Renoir in a brothel.

And for crying out loud, trying to make a pretense of sophistication and you spell "rich" wrong and seem to have never heard of a comma.

No clue. Just no clue.

The difference is that Trump built upon his family's success and raised his children to do the same. Unlike many that come from privilege that just live off what others before them accomplished. Paris Hilton come to mind.

Someone on this board once mentioned, rightly, that if a successful millionaire suddenly lost all due to some unforeseen catastrophe, he be back on his feet and rich and successful again in time. Give a ghetto rat a million dollars he'd be back to being dirt poor in the same time frame. Remember Rodney King getting a load of dough from the LAPD but due to his alcohol and drug addiction lost it all in no time.

yes yes it was a joke. But still :D

He also comes from a "roayal" blood line. His ancestry is filled with big players and global leaders. He made it sound like he worked in the mines, lol

No I didn't. I want to know what makes you think you have better (not different) taste than Trump. Sure there's nothing wrong if you want to live in a tiny house or drive a 2008 Toyota Corolla even if you were multi millionaire.

I love corollas!

I had a Corolla that lasted 185.000 miles. Of course, if I was a billionaire I probably would have gotten a new one at 150,000.

Yes, he comes from privilege and went to the best schools and probably had tutors to help him with his courses. We should all be so lucky. I mean, lets face it, if you are born a Kennedy, a Rockefeller, part of the Royal Family... you aren't going to be punching a time clock and worrying about having enough for retirement so you don't have to live in a trailer park.

Who knows where you and I would be if we were born into similar circumstances. I imagine a tad better off. Who knows where Trump would be if he were born in our circumstances. Maybe he would still be successful, but I doubt he would be the front runner for the President of the United States.

So much of our life is determined on the day you were born.

Haha - I like it because it's so over the top.
Though I couldn't stay long in these rooms as they've got squashing visuals... kinda "compressing".

You guys know that people around the world are laughing at you for just  considering him as a president candidate?

What you consider "people" most likely barely qualify for the position. Just sayin'...

I am not focusing on money. I am focusing what makes you qualified to determine his "taste". You didn't say that his decor didn't appeal to you or wasn't your thing but that he had poor taste. This implies to you have better taste. Of course taste is subjective. I don't get opera. I don't get a Picasso. But I am not going to criticize the taste of others that do. Answer my question. If money was no object what kind of painting would display? What kind of sculpture? What kind of sofa  and chair would be in the room? And why?

Here are just a few of the reasons why that place is tacky. The faux corinthian columns cut in half and  glued  onto the load bearing columns. The Renoir and the Reni  and the ceiling fresco are reproductions.  He has a ceiling fresco on a ceiling that is no more than 13 feet high. The furniture and painting in the office are too big for where they are placed, so  the couch is crammed in front of that ornate frame.

Yes, the place is more expensive than our apartment, but it is garish. The prints let you know exactly what's going on. Why get reproductions in a $100 mil penthouse?  This is a guy trying to cram an idea of "luxury" into a space where it doesn't fit. He's trying to make a high-rise penthouse- which could be very stylish- into some hideous Versailles reproduction and it looks like garbage. The scale is off, the symmetry is off, the architecture is anachronistic. That's why it's tacky.

Wrong and an idiotic statement. I've been on this board for over ten years and have always made it clear I am a person of modest means.

I protest the constant negativity that this board generates toward success. I've even defended Bostin Lloyd, who I am not a fan of. I have defended DLB whom I actually dislike (at least the image she portrays). But I defend, admire, and encourage their success. Bostin is 23 years old and he's already a successful business owner working for himself and a home owner when most his age are still living with their parents. DLB has built a successful and lucrative career doing what she loves. And people were bashing her house in the country surrounded by nature and animals when most here are living in apartments or their neighbors are just a few yards away.

It use to be that Americans admired success and tried to emulate it. Now the trend is toward jealousy and resentment.

Fair answer, now I see where you're coming from. My problem with Donald is his whole identity is based in revelling in his wealth, yeah great he inherited 250 million and turned it into 5 Bill but he's had every advantage in life so he's not comparable with the average joe posting on Getbig.

I'm sure those "people around the world" were far happier when we elected a  community organizer whose  main claim to fame was writing a book about snorting coke. It gave them something to relate to :)

I like the ceilings. I will never be able to afford to have an epic ceiling painting.

???  Cramming into a space that doesn't fit?  His apartment is massive and takes up the entire floor.

I don't attempt to determine his taste. It is self evident. I dislike his taste. Whether I vocalise that dislike through saying: "fuck me, that place looks like shit!", or your preferred variant: "his decor isn't my thing" is really just a case of semantics.

In relation to my interior design preferences, you can deduce that it would look a fair bit different from Donald's.

Bostin Lloyd = Drug abuser and drug dealer
DLB = Drug abuser and pathological liar

I'd say these are not the sort of people who Americans, or anyone else, should look up to. Again, it appears that you are focusing on the material aspects of people's existence and equating this to success.
