I have not experienced that from him. I cannot read every thread nor do I wish to do so. I am as guilty as any here when it comes to being naïve/ignorant on a variety of subjects. To date, my reality is that I get along fine with Donny. I can understand likes and dislikes as I have a great deal of disgust for the likes of Herne and Hipo.
Another example of that is how I agree with Bay on the Bond films but disagree with him on not just homosexuality but his absolutely hilariously disgusting "tier system" of rating the monetary worth of grossly developed bodybuilders (with the facial good looks of a Jim Henson creation) in the world of schmoes. 
Oft times reality is not only what we make of it but also what others do and how we respond to said actions.
For a long time I thought that Donna was a 'good guy' as well, simply because there was no relevant disagreement. That being said, you can prob imagine what happened when there suddenly
was a relevant disagreement
(well, it was about nothing, unless you believe that a discussion about training methods is relevant). He started to PM bomb me with childish tourette syndrome-like posts, threats, twisting things and so on. Sure, I understand that all of this was something between him and me, not with you, but... when someone starts to behave like a complete moron to almost anyone
(I call him a 'drunkichotte' for this reason), you might change your view on him, even when you have no beef with him directly.
I hope you get my point, and as for Herne, Hippo & Bay, you might not share their taste, but they've never attacked anyone, so naming them in this discussion makes no sense to me. However, I respect your opinion sir.
