You also realize that cutting spending is a more effective way of cutting the deficit than tax increases....right?

Actually cutting spending and increasing revenue is the absolute best way.

When was the last time a republican OR democrat cut spending?

Well the republicans got blamed for the sequester so...and dollar for dollar cutting spending is more effective than taxing more

They don't want to cut spending. They just wanted obamacare to go away.

If they cared about cutting spending they would do it. They don't want to. They want to spend on what THEY want and want to stop the other side from spending on what THEY want to.

Democrats are equally full of shit.

You might be right. Cutting spending is ultimately unpopular with a large portion of the voting populous. As I've pointed out many times previously, a politician's job is to get elected and then to get reelected. Whether Democrat or Republican, politicians are whores who will say anything they believe the public wants to hear. Just look at all the egomaniacs debating in Las Vegas last night. After the primary, there will be the top two (or so) egocentric idiots competing for the thankless position of President of the United States.

You do realize that part of the reason for deficits is that democrats won't cut spending right?
oh I definitely agree that Democtrats won't cut spending.....but at least they don't hide that fact....they don't give you a false choice....Republicans spend just as much and "cutting" taxes usually means cutting services and taking on huge debt....they SELDOM cut entitlements and actually give out more entitlements to corporations (oh thats right you dont consider that to be an "entitlement")

maybe,...I don't know...I'm not an economist....but by your reasoning Obama should be credited big time with cutting spending and lowering our deficit tremendously for seven straight years by keeping us out of costly and unnecessary wars..........

but of course you won't give him that credit will you?????????????

you are right..it actually doesn't prove anything......the fact of the matter is ISIS has not gained any territory since the summer and has been steadily losing territory in Syria and in Iraq due to U.S and allied bombing.....Obama said it would be a long war and he was right.....but people don't get it....especially those who have an agenda against Obama...they don't want to hear the truth

Obama's claim that ISIS is contained has been contradicted by the SecDef and one of his top military advisors, so you better circle back with the rest of the Obamabots to figure out your new talking points.

If that's the case, why do you think Republicans hold the House, Senate, a majority of governorships, and a majority of state legislatures?

I don't agree with that.

It's complex. Many reasons. Gerrymandering may be one. Other reasons include:

Jesus loves republicans more than democrats?
Belief that the republicans will lower their taxes?
Belief that democrats are weak on national security?
Belief that republicans are more fiscally responsible?

All of which are lies.

Being racists could be another reason as well.

It's not just one thing. It never is.

Wait wait wait you mean the cutting spending from the sequester you and Obama blame on the republicans??? That cutting spending?

You don't have to be an economist to understand basic math. You gain more by cutting spending bc by doing that you gain Greater benefit from every dollar you bring in.

Sometimes you spend money to have a greater return.

Takes money to make money and all of that.

Like I said. You have to do both when you are in debt. If you want to get out of it.

deficits were going down in the years BEFORE the sequester....as for cutting spending, I do think we should cut spending......however spending cuts have not proven to be good for the economy...all the EU nations cut spending as well .....and their economies stagnated....

Do you not know that I live in Oregon?

Did you not notice that during the last eight years, a Democrat was twice elected as President of the United States?  Republicans hold more cards than Democrats. Apparently, they are the losing cards when I comes to the Presidency. A lot of Republicans hope... or hoped that they would have a Republican in the White House again. It is really a shame that they can't find a viable candidate for this election.

At this point, some of my staunchest Republican friends are telling me they will vote for the Democratic candidate rather than to elect one of the nut jobs who are the front runners on the Republican side.
