Then he went back to a Austin / McMahon moment and thru the fake arrest..
It went down hill from there...
Lost opportunity..

The arrest came off as very fake...

Stephanie is generating enough hate to get assaulted, but I can't imagine that would happen with the anti bully movement.

There is a nationwide movement to pussify the USA.
So far, they are succeeding.

WWF actually kept Stephanie off of some shows around '99/2000 because of rumblings of "threats" against her at arenas. That was back when she had major X-PAC heat as a heel with Hunter.

What needed to happen there was for Reigns to cut an impassioned 5 minute promo ripping into Vince hard, but Reigns just doesn't have the mic skills to pull that off. So, they were left with Vince getting payback via a lame gimmick.

This is why I don't see Reigns working long term as a face champ.
