I'll wait until it comes out on Betamax.

Hey, I still own the Laserdisks of the first three yet don't have a way to play them.  I stole them from a library when I was 10.

Another twat that probably took a personal day off to go watch a fucking movie that has nothing new to offer... one thing was the die hard fans of the 70's/80's who would collect/buy  everything related to the "saga" return of the Jedy etc....

Today is sickening ! you have the iPod/metrosexual/Millenials/hipsters/Lumbersexual and you ! that take this movie WAY TOO SERIOUS its pathetic, embarrassing and beyond respect....

If you paid more than $15.00  to watch it than you're an idiot...

Now fuck off and go to bed with your stuffed Yoda and sword that glows in the dark..... douche bag pussy of a man.

Hey, dingus, if Star Wars fans had iphones and computers and all the technology back in the 70s and 80s, they would be doing the same thing. Obsessed fans will always find a way to obsess over their interest.

Not even sure if they're worth anything since it's an obsolete format.  Maybe I'll bring the the Antiques Roadshow.

Don't know why, but when I read that, I busted out laughing. Classic.  ;D

Nope, Lucas said he had a lot of input but Disney didn't want any of it so Lucas said he just walked away for good and wished them best of luck.  Disney wanted the lead female and Hebrew and didn't care about anything else.

Thats a bad combo for international markets. The rest of the world doesnt share the Liberal holywood hardon for hebrews and women as leads.

Dude, most of the world is really racist and doesn't want to see a tree monkey be a lead jedi character. Especially not as a sidekick to a white chick.

Ultimately decided I can't do it. I just don't care, zero interest in seeing the latest. Tried to recapture that childhood interest by watching New Hope and Empire again, and I barely got through them. Bored to tears, all seems so childish now.

Some things just get lost in the past, I suppose.

Everything was better when we were young.

Nowadays, mostly everything in movies seem silly, since we are so jaded and cynical these days.

I can only watch videos where ISIS throws down people to find any realism and credibility nowadays

Thing is, I still get totally into Jaws when it's on. Overlooking the cheesy effects isn't so tough when it's surrounded by so much brilliance (story/acting/music/suspense, etc.). Same with Bad News Bears, Sixteen Candles, Breakfast Club, Back to the Future, Fast Times at Ridgemont High, Close Encounters, etc. - all arguably kids'/teen flicks that are equally dated and/or cheesy at times.

Of all these, only Star Wars falls flat for me. I'm just not the guy, I guess.

I saw it, was entertained and completely forgot about it.  No interest in ever seeing it again or a part 2.  If it was on HBO I wouldn't stop.

This movie will do well regardless of how shitty it is.  It might not catch Avatar because Avatar was groundbreaking when it came to 3D and that's what attracted a lot of people.  With all the hype and nostalgia they will get their fanbase to show up.  I'll be curious in a few years if people give a shit to continue watching the Hebrew and skinny brit chick in the lead role.

Never really saw what was so great about Avatar.

I mean, it was pretty. Lots of CGI = Lots of good 3D, but in general, I wasn't impressed.

Saw SW:TFA twice. Would never give Avatar another look.

That's just me though.

I want something NEW !!!

You know, something a little different. Like starwars was back in 77 or whenever.

Like Matrix when it came out. Or Jurassic Park.

Give me something groundbreaking today, I'm so tired of seeing rehashes like Iron Man 5 or the fourth incarnation of Spiderman, regardless of how good they make Transformers, Turtles or Terminator, it is just repeats really.

Damn. I am not a huge Star Wars fan, so I will not lose sleep over it. But sucks they would not let him have any input.

he sold them the franchise for 4 billion, if he wanted his input to be used he shouldn't have sold

Disney has already made that money back plus some.  Although super rich, Lucas is probably pissed.

he hates how everybody craps on his prequels yet they seem to love this new one, though i have a feeling many will end up hating these new ones too because everybody seemed to love the prequels when they were new

Prequels were good..
Jar jar was the only part most die-hard fans want to forget...
4/5/6 were excellent...
The force awakens is above the prequels..
But lacks what empire and return had.. which made the series an instant classic....

I don't recall this at all.

Most people hated 1 for sure... 2 and 3 were just passable.
