CNN Republican debate
« on: December 15, 2015, 05:43:21 PM »
Officially came on at 8:39 pm.   Odd.

Did they start 9 minutes late because Trump's limo rolled in at 8:26 pm?   LOL!  Everyone else was standing around waiting for the prom king to show up.

Rand is outright DESTROYING Rubio on his loose immigration stance.

Rubio sweating badly already, 25 minutes into the debate.

Cruz Continues to Grow in Iowa

Beats Trump and grabs second choice points

Ted Cruz is not only pulling in ten points more than Donald Trump in Iowa, but the Des Moines Register-Bloomberg poll shows the Texas senator growing as a preferred second choice candidate.

The latest horse race numbers put Cruz at 31% support among likely caucusgoers, Trump at 31%, Ben Carson at 13%, and Marco Rubio at 12%. But it is Cruz's potential for growth that is notable.

And there are signs Cruz may not have peaked in Iowa yet. Another 20 percent of likely caucusgoers say he's their current second choice for president. Cruz hits 51 percent support when first- and second-choice interest is combined, again leading the field.

With Cruz's popularity and his debate proficiency, "it's certainly possible that he could win Iowa big — very big," said Frank Luntz, a Nevada-based GOP focus group guru who follows the Iowa race closely.

The Iowa caucuses are scheduled for February 1st, with New Hampshire holding its primary on February 9th.

Dubya was way more competent than most of this mess tonight.  Carly has now said she plans to use force to get china, NKorea, and Russia to do what we want.

She'll shoot down russian planes and refuse to ever TALK to putin until they give us everything we want in syria.

Is.  She.  Fcking.  High?

the answer to everything is more military spending.  Gotcha!  :)

Trump saying it's okay to focus on killing women and children because "ISIS is already doing it anyway" should go down as the worst answer in the history of politics.  But it won't.  Because 41% of today's base voters are ignorant pieces of shit.

Trump has jumped the shark.  Full of himself.  He's a joke and everyone on that stage knows it.

Cruz is looking like a president tonight.  Trump is looking like a pompous ass, simply put.

Trump's great quotes from tonight ->

"They can kill us, but we can't kill them?" (on why it's okay to kill wives and children of terrorists)

"I'm not talking about closing the internet... i'm talking about shutting it down only in certain places."

Trump wants to pull the USA from Geneva convention, and yes, censoring whatever parts of the internet that the federal govt sees fit.  Do you want president hilary having that power?   LOL!!!

There's a thin line between "strength" and "acting just like the fccking terrorists"

Calling for family of terrorists to be killed?  Calling for carpet bombing in 2015 with so many more tools and tech and airpower at our disposal?  Saying "they do it, why can't we"?

IMO, when Trump spent 45 seconds bullshitting about nuclear power to avoid admitting he had no idea what the fck the nuclear triad was... that says it ALL.   If you watch that question, you'll instantly see Trump's face when asked - swallows and gulp, doesn't know what it is - SO he pulls a carson and sloooowly re-explains why nuclear war is so dangerous.  CNN host smells it and asks which part of the triad he is most concerned about... Trump, again, rambles about why he's the best choice.

Rubio swoops in and explains the nuclear triad to trump.   I think Trump being lost on this one shouldn't go overlooked.  it's one thing to hand out lindsey graham's phone number and mock the handicapped... BUT now knowing the nuclear triad... huge unprepared move by Trump.  Shameful.

usually, when they skirt, it's because they don't want to take a solid position and thus piss off a % of potential voters.  Every time you take a stance, you risk losing votes of people who feel otherwise.

this was a simple Q about which component of the triad was most concerning.  Very easy to answer, without offending anyone, if you know what the fck it is.  Trump did not. Pretty big deal if he indeed cannot explain what a running back, wide receiver, or tight end is, yet he wants to be QB with the nuclear football.

with recent practice... jeb is good at delivering the insults on trump.

He's just soft as baby shit when it comes to the followup.  "Oh, you're a real tough guy jeb!" and suddenly Jeb is stammering.   Those practiced lines, you know he said them 1000 times getting ready.  But he has nothing on the back-and-forth.

Cruz is still my guy, but he needs to learn that "targeted attacks" and "carpet bombing" aren't the same thing.

I know, carpet bombing gives that audience their war boners and with trump up by 20, cruz needs to get them hard fast.  But still, dangerous.

Bush in the 90s was quick as shit on his feet.  Some credit the coke use back then.  Look up videos, he was quick and witty.  He got very slow to win the base while running in 1999-2000.  Then yes, he slowed down a lot.

It's not odd at all that the Democratic debate was scheduled on a Saturday night at 6pm..lol.

Rush put it best when he said it was purposely scheduled then knowing that no one would watch because everytime Killary opens her mouth her poll numbers drop.

If you watched the live pre-game... you'll see all of the others standing backstage together.  THEN trump's limo arrives.
Looked like everyone was waiting.

Then the show started at 8:39.   Instead of the 8:30 planned time.  I am not hating on trump... if he has the clout to make em wait, so be it.
