Periscope - horrible date story :-(
« on: December 20, 2015, 09:30:29 PM »
Friend hooks me up with this girl, he says she is great for me as he knows I hate facebook and she has no facebook,  not to mention (the more important part) she is real good looking, no kids, no drugs etc.

So after a few short texts back and forth we decide to meet up Friday night. I arrive to pick her up, and boom, my friend was right, she is hot as hell. She is walking towards my car and I notice she is holding the phone with her arms stretched out and talking. Not much of a surprise there, I have picked up girls before that are busy talking and texting, no reason to get upset just yet.

She gets into the car, and what im hearing sounds completely bizarre, I can't remember exactly everything but this is how it went:

Where are you guys going? we are going to (restaurant name)
my snapchat is...
what car he has, well he has a (name of car)
my instagram is..
guys follow me
please guys stop speaking dirty or I will have to block
show me those hearts
invite your friends
this is all you will see of my boobs

I am sitting there and wondering wtf is going on but I am just driving (longest 20 minute drive).

And then Hell shows up, she says

"hey, everyone wants to see the guy I am going out with, say hi"

With that she turns her phone to me and says "we are live on periscope, say hi there are 43 people watching us"

I heard the word periscope in the past but really did not know how it works, however I was able to figured out a bit what the fuck was going on here. She sees I am upset, she tries calming me down by saying "oh look they are giving you hearts".

Anyway, she wishes these "followers" well and promises to do a quick "scope" once in the restaurant.

She did keep her promise, and my evening continued to get worse.

Every dish that arrived she "scoped".

When I asked if she can stop scoping she took major offense! She started yelling at me how many followers she has and how many likes / hearts etc and sooner or later she might get work off it.

I stayed as calm as possible, drove her home, complete silence and that was the end of that one.

I used to warn people about dating social media addicts, I am not upping the warning big time to a code red and warning do not date periscopers unless you have no respect for your privacy.

I blame men, they worship pussy to the point women know they can do whatever the fuck they want and get away with it.  I would have told her to go fuck herself the moment I realised what she was doing.

I wouldn't like it either. You did right.

I do see a lot of people doing something on periscope and I'm not quite sure what the actual point is.

Is there some kind of money making you can do with periscope? I get where you have a brand or a site and you periscope to do free marketing for your site / brand, then it makes sense.

To just do it for 43 people and no brand or site or anything to sell?

Seems ridiculous.

Periscope is a social real time video app and infrastructure.

It let's you live stream video immediately from your phone with very little equipment.

Kind of like a youtube or twitch live feed.
People add people on "Periscope" they would find interesting and when they start broadcasting, a notification is sent to your app on your phone. You open the app and you start watching.

You can just start streaming whenever.

43 viewers isn't shit. Denise Masino probably has 10 times that in shmoes.

im sure there are ways to make money off it but she certainly makes nothing off it. She has a dream of being discovered or some bs like that, she rambled about it but I was too upset to even listen.

If this wasnt a girl that was introduced to me by a friend I would have ended it way earlier. He texted me how things went and I told him she seems nice just not for me, he called me and I didn't answer. I don't want to tell him this periscope drama as it wan't his fault.

it's all about the followers today.

I must have heard the words "follow me", "I will follow you", "please invite followers" 5000 times within 3 hours.

She also made some deal that if she gets X amount of followers she will do something, wasn't anything porn but something I forgot what

Remember Parascope? Great conspiracy site back in the day. The moment she got in the car and didn't put her phone away was the moment you should've asked her to get out. Don't be such a pussy. Rude is rude.

Although I agree this type of invasion of privacy has an element of terror to it, the fact that she wasn't walking around dressed in a tent or a head wrap makes it highly unlikely she has anything to do with Radical Islam. Then again who knows, maybe this is a new tactic of terrorizing American men. Maybe she is part of a sleeper cell that launches Peribombs on unsuspecting people that enjoy their privacy.

Thanks for the humorous reply

I was in LA a while ago and did just that. I just can't do it if the person is someone that was introduced to me by a friend. We are dealing with a woman here, guaranteed she will tell him that: "as I was putting my phone away he bursted out in anger and I ran for my life, he seems like the abusive type, should I get a restraining order?"

If I met her off match, tinder, okcu, etc without a doubt I would have not even allowed her in the car the second I saw her walking with a stretched out arm making duck faces or whatever it's called.

Never heard of this periscope, but its true that many of the younger generation allow social media to take too much space and room in their lives.

Its twitter this, instagram that and facebook this.

People even started posting what they call #aftersex pictures on their instagram.

When you dropped her off, you should have locked her door and exposed your dick to her.  Could have been a game saving move.

You stopped the car, informed her viewers that you never gave permission and told that c u n t to get the fuck out.

Then you continued on to restaurant for big ass steak and congratulated yourself.

That's how the story should have transpired.
