They hadn't heard of Obama at first, but quickly jumped aboard when they did. They didn't know of Bernie at first, either, but they ain't jumping aboard (that I'm aware), but favoring Hilary, instead.
Doesn't that mean African-Americans voted for Obama due to his skin color?
The phone call is just something to point your finger at for people like andre. They voted for him once they found out a viable black person was running. See my last post on the previous page. A large population of blacks don't keep up with politicos, and as such didn't know about obama. Once they were aware of him, they were on his side. I would even say most of them that voted for him didn't even know about bill Clinton's comments. In fact, I definitely don't think the record black participation had anything to do with this comment. They voted black plain and simple.
Any insinuation that it was a comment by bill Clinton is a diversion from the blatant racism by blacks in this country. And to be fair, I do understand having a sense of pride about the potential first real black president. So in that sense, if someone were to be familiar with politics, understand his aspirations and vote for him because he was black, that would be great and inderstandable.
That isn't what happened. Every single black, plenty that give no care about politics and have never voted before, went and voted for a black man
