Well, one of the responses is correct, in regard to "freezing." From an evolutionary perspective, "flight or fight" are emotional and physiological responses to danger. However, "freezing" is also a strategy used in response to a dangerous situation. A common response among children when they are being sexually abused is to "freeze." This response is not uncommon among young children, since it is not typical for a 5 year old to "fight" or "flight" from an adult. Instead, they "freeze."
The issue with the freeze response is the women never actually says, "no." Thus, from a legal perspective, its very difficult to prove if raped actually occurred. From a subjective perspective, the woman may feel she was raped. However, that is much different than proving it in a court of law.
